ERRORS: Breathless and Gobliins 2

I find it very annoying when a game runs fine on WinUAE but not on my real Amiga. Wouldn't it make more sense if the emulator was less effective than the real thing? :confused

I'm experiencing weird problems with two games that work with no problems on WinUAE but give me different screens on Amiga, and I was wondering if anyone could help. Identical hard disk setup. I unzipped both titles on the Amiga and I tried disabling the PRELOAD option with the same result.

Breathless

Before everything else, I get a black screen with the following message in red letters: "PLEASE INSERT BREATHLESSl" (the last character looks like a lower case L). I do not get that on WinUAE.

Gobliins 2

I get a screen to select the language, I press '3' for English (or another language) and the game returns to Workbench with no message. Again, this screen does not even appear on WinUAE!

Fears AGA & CD32

Both games go up to the point where the action is supposed to begin (I even have the time to catch a glimpse of the shotgun) and then they quit to Workbench with an Illegal Instruction ($10).

What are the specs of your real Amiga?

A1200, 68020, 10mb Ram.

Every extra stuff (CF card etc) disabled?

I use SUBWAY, which is disabled when Workbench begins.

EDIT: I added one more game to my first post, somehow it got deleted before.

Okay, since they work in WinUAE as you say, I'm quite sure that it's not KG's installed version that causes the problem on your machine. Given that three games already gave you errors, there might be a problem with your setup that Wepl might want to have a look at. You should report them on http://mantis.whdload.de. Hopefully someone with a similar setup will check if they work or not.

Thanks for trying to help. I should mention I'm in the process of checking every single game of my project, I have checked more than 1500 games and the ones I mention above are the only ones I have problems with... so my setup is usually effective. Well, there was also Star Trek but I installed that one from the floppies.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just saying that if the game runs in WinUAE the installed version should be fine :) It's more likely something in WHDLoad or the slave that gets triggered on your machine which causes the problem.
