Can't get RAD: working??
Hi there ;)
I have a problem with RAD: I boot my Amiga 1200 to Workbench with the Workbench 3.1 disk, go to shell and then I mount RAD:. It is mounted without any error messages, but when I try to access RAD:, the Amiga does not recognize it. Also when I type the "info" command RAD: does not show on the list. If I then load a software called "FixDisk"(it's a program that can recover and fix data), RAD: however shows in "FixDisks" drive list. If I reset the Amiga RAD: does not show up in the early startup menu as it normally should. My Workbench 3.1 disk is unaltered.. I've made no changes to it, so the RAD: mountfile is the original file that comes with Workbench 3.1. I tried WinUAE on my PC with Workbench 3.1 and mounted RAD: there and it worked perfectly. I then copied the RAD: mountfile from my WinUAE Workbench 3.1 to the one I have in the Amiga 1200, but the result was the same as earlier. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here? I can't really find any errors in the RAD: mountfile. I'm using a Amiga 1200 with 8 MB extra memory (2 MB CHIP and 8 MB FAST). The Amiga has no harddrive, extra disk drive or anything else extra, just the memory expansion. |
this is a shot in the dark but have you tried formatting it?

How much Chip-Memory do you have left before mounting RAD: ?
Some Memory-Extensions tag the Memory in a way that it cant be used by RAD, so a whole, unfragmented 1MB-Chunk of ChipRAM will be needed to successfully mount it. Try setting HIGHCYL=5 or another low value in the Tooltypes of the RAD-Icon. |
