Amiga Discs

If there is a more appropiate forum for this, then please let me know.
I am new to emulating the amiga and I have a few questions.
Is there anyway to read amiga discs on a pc. Even just to make images of the discs.
At my disposal I have a USB floppy disc drive and the original floppy from my A600HD. Is it possible to plug this into my laptop or desktop. And if so will Winuae etc be able to recognise it?

Yes you can use a PC to image amiga disks, dont think that usb drive or the a600 drive will be any help though. You can use your old amiga hooked up to a PC with a serial null modem cable or two PC floppy drives in a PC.

Check this FAQ link here for more info: http://wiki.abime.net/amiga:file_transfer

if you have a PC with two 3.5 floppies, you can use adfread, creating adf images of your amiga disks. this works very well with unprotected amiga disks.
in case a track is bad, the program will re-read the bad track(s) on second start. i saved alot of my old amiga disks this way. this can be repeated until the tracks have been reading successfully.
adfread 1.1: http://www.winuae.de/download/adfread-1.1.zip
a system driver for adfread: http://simonowen.com/fdrawcmd/

You can use the EASYADF PCMCIA CF Transfer Kit to quickly and easily transfer gigabytes of files from the Amiga to PC and vice versa.

amigakit: your website has some problems:

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /hsphere/local/home/leaman/amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/includes/languages/english.php on line 394

Edit: seems fixed now.

Yep, I built a box at work to to this out of spare parts, it works GREAT! It writes the disks directly to ADF files on your hard disk by filtering a simulated disk copy.
