V.A.M.P.: Virtual Amiga Multimedia Player - Help???

does this player need this not cheap hollywood software to be installed?
if i try to start, player says "ahx.hwp reqired" which i can't find on aminet.
why doesn't this player come with all the libraries/whatever it needs?
do i really have to search for dozens of files on dozens of locations?

AMIGASYSTEM 13 November 2018 16:06

Not cheap? 49 euros for Hollywood isn't bad at all for what it offers... but anyway it isn't required for this player program.

It is there nevertheless: http://aminet.net/search?query=ahx+hwp

Give some feedback to the author and suggest that?

All Hollywood plugins are officially distributed on two locations, Hollywood's home page and Aminet. They both have the same files so it doesn't matter which one you use, and both locations are told in the documentation.

Both Libs:Hollywood/ and the program folder do work, depends if you want to install them globally (for all HW programs) or just for the certain program.

There are no menus, there are commands set on the numeric keys and the mouse wheel, read Vamp.guide.

If you want to change Skin you have to create a text file called "Skinvamp.cfg" and type the path of the Skin end name Skin example:

DH0:VAMP/Skins/Dark

honx I do not know if you've noticed, but you read that in addition to videos also performs various formats of Animation, Images and Sounds!

honx 13 November 2018 19:32

thx, i've seen that. but playback of .mp4/.avi is very slow. ffmplay is a bit faster...
extracted all files (amigaos3 fpu version) to libs:hollywood the player was asking for.
btw. how can i adjust sound volume? clicking on speaker icon only mutes/unmutes it.

AMIGASYSTEM 13 November 2018 20:48

Yes FFPlay is faster for Video, with regard to the audio you can edit it via the scroll bar, see screenshots.

honx 13 November 2018 20:57

i tried it, but in my case this scroll bar doesn't change anything.

It works well for me, close and restart the player.

honx 13 November 2018 22:37

i not only closed and restarted the player, i had several reboots...
i don't need to watch the video, good for you if it works for you.
this doesn't apply to my system...

Can we please not turn this "News" thread into another honx "support" thread?

...in fact, I'll probably move posts out shortly after I've finished a few things.

honx 13 November 2018 23:02

nevermind, it's not that important, there are other players (ffplay)...
