Awesome earok :bowdown :bowdown :bowdown

I copied the files from your archive to a small .HDF and even added some text from the Another World - Wikipedia webpage before starting to set the scene ;)

1) How would someone go about launching this level on the Amiga?

Can someone give me a gist of this please for a write up.

1) What is this lost level?

2) What system was it originally on, DOS?

Read the Another World - Wikipedia webpage Neil :agree

In particular the first part of the "Ports" section:

Quote:

Reviews praised the game's graphics, sound, and gameplay, but criticized its short span. Chahi, working for 16 hours a day for two months, responded with creating a new level just before the amphitheatre scene, when the alien friend rescues Lester at the end of a long dead-end corridor. Chahi said: "I like this extra level a lot because it reinforces the close relationship between the hero and the alien by developing their mutual aid."[9] Also added were more dangers and more save points. This ended up being the 1992 DOS version, which was coded by Daniel Morais, and had the exact code wheel protection of the Amiga and ST versions. The Macintosh features higher resolution than the DOS version, but is otherwise identical.[14]

a) Download earok's "Another World - The Lost Level BETA.zip" file from The Zone!
b) Extract the contents to a directory on a hard drive and double-click "another" to start the game.

earok are you Santa? :xmas:xmas :D Keep coming with the fab news!

Hopefully someone can edit this into teh full game and make an Another World Deluxe edition! Maybe including it in your CD32 disc with Heart Of The Alien? That would be SUCH a treat!

VincentGR 15 December 2016 17:59

Thank you very much although I can't download it from the zone :rolleyes

I think that megadrive's version was longer? Can't really remember.

It seems to play along nicely, great work Earok. :bowdown

Heya earok,

This "Palais" level in the DOS version is broken up into 2 parts ;)

Just noticed that you can use this code to access the 2nd part: TXHF

For anyone that needs it, I've amalgamated various walkthroughs found on the internet into one and slightly rewritten so that things are explained well.

Attached ;)

Thanks for the feedback everyone :great

So it turns out a few of the included BANK files simply aren't needed at all, meaning it can be squeezed on to a single ADF. I've zoned a BETA of that too. ECS Agnus seems to be the minimum supported configuration (strangely enough as the original game seems OK with OCS).

Some time in the next few days I'll do a final build for http://earok.net/game, and bundle it with the original game and Heart of the Alien for cd32.co.uk. I'll no doubt include a readme and the second part code on the level select screen (cheers Damien!), probably the WHDLoad slave (thanks for the confirmation Retroplay!), any other minor requests that I might be able to do?

In the zone for your pleasure is a standalone build of "Another World: The Lost Level".

Excellent you figured out how it works. Standalone level is perfect. Will take a look this evening.

That's great news.
Yesterday I tried to powerpacked it and turboimplode it :D with no success (except the executable) for a disk release.
