Mental to the Nth Level

Hi Guys

Mental is what I am, probably. I blew a shitload of money on various stuff because I got the retro-virus bad - even though I don't have an inkling of how to use an amiga for more than just playing games :D

So here's the rundown... I bought a lot of amigas on ebay and have now the following at home (don't be surprised - I went WAY overboard with this):

Amiga 500: 2 (1 working, one spare)
Amiga 600: 2 (both work, 1 with HD and 2 meg i think)
Amiga 1200: 2 (1 stock, 1 with HD and Accel - 28mhz i think)
Amiga 2000: 3 (all work, 1 with Ambercard, XT and 4 meg, others stock)
Amiga 3000D: 1 (stock 25/25, 5 meg probably)
Amiga 4000D 040: 1 (+ 1 spare mobo)

Picasso II
Picasso IV (last rev)
Ariadne II
Toccata
Cyberstorm PPC 060/60 / 233Mhz (untested) 128MB Ram
Cyberstorm PPC Graphics card

Now... I know I will get rid of some of the stuff, but that's not the issue right now. Supposing all of the above stuff works (here's hoping), I want to set up a killer A4000D or Tower with a mac emulation on the PPC side. Luckily I know someone who will set it up for me so I will have a running system to learn on, BUT:

A4000D tends to overheat because of limited space, right?
So will the PPC have to wait until I get my hands on a Tower case? (even more cash to spend... ugh)

If so, will a setup of a "naked" A4000D 040 with Picasso IV be a nice alternative? Or is the PIV too much for this? Should i opt for the PII instead?

Thanks in advance for any hints and tips, and if you could point me to a knowledge base where a newbie could learn a bit more about setting the system up and the like, then please post some links (i saw all the links on EAB, will check them first - I mean stuff that is NOT covered there. Most seems to center around installing on WINUAE... If a real amiga does not differ from those install how-to's, then please say so)
:great

The PIV is not too much for the 040 machine.

The A4000's problem is, that the flat cables for the 5.25" slot and the floppy drive obstruct the power supply's fan.

Perhaps it's a good idea to hold the PPC until you get an enclosure that's ventilated better.

That's what I feared... crap. Seems like I won't be able to profit from that turbo for some time. Or can you suggest a solution to the heat problem that guarantees the card won't fry?

Cheers

Leave the top off the machine and fit a 80mm fan that blows on the card from above it.
