Emu68 1.0 Kernel for Pistorm released
Hi all
Michal, the author of Emu68 kernel for Pistorm accelerators, has just released version 1.0. It is a huge milestone in the development of the kernel with improvements all around the functionality. For a lot of people compatibility with old software (games and demos) was always important and I am pleased to say that this version is able to run practically all WHDLoad games without any glitches or slowdowns. You can read more about the release on the git page and Michal's pateron: https://github.com/michalsc/Emu68/releases/tag/v1.0 https://www.patreon.com/posts/emu68-1-0-100750856 I have also made a short presentation of this amazing 1.0 release here: https://youtu.be/xAQlBtEPtdM |
That is great news, it just keeps getting better and better.
On a sidenote, is the WHDLoad wrapper going to get any update as well? |
I don't know much about any of this, but I did see that yes, the WHDLoad wrapper got updated as well. To version 0.7, if I recall correctly.
|
I hope this fixes the slowdown issue I was having in Golden Axe!
Can I write this over an existing image, or simply update it? Or do I have to do a fresh install of this? |
amazing news!:great

Yes the wrapper got bumped to version 0.07 too. Besides bug fixes and supporting more launchers we have a huge Database update - a lot of that thanks to Phil who is tirelessly testing WhdLoad demos and we have an online DB updater tool that gets latest DB files from Google docs and updates them on your Amiga.

Here on pistorm32 and rpi4 I don't get any slowdowns... it is the same as the youtube longplay video. Even when there are more enemies on the screen. |
Today was a great day!

- Pistorm16 (already done a prototype so it is getting close to finished) - it is a new version of pistorm for A600 that is more like pistorm32 and takes on a CM4 - WiFi driver - implementation also nicely underway |
