Why MOD???

Why MOD??? You can only find remixes, when you want the Turrican music in protracker format.. Why not get a TFMX plugin for winamp and then get hold of the original game music by huelsbeck.... ??

Feltzkrone 15 January 2003 00:36

@A.V.: Right!

I guess SOME TFMX tunes can be converted to MOD format without any loss, but just as far as no effects (of which TFMX offers a lot) are included which MOD format can't support. Another thing is that I don't think such a converter exists, so what you've got now is just a remix, not the original tune.

A.V. 15 January 2003 08:30

Nope, you're right.. You cannot get a converter, which converts TFMX to MOD! Those MOD versions are all retracked, and as far as I know not very good compared to the original!

I agree with AV and Feltz, of course! Forget those lame MOD rematracks

Turrican mods

I also have a few multichannel remixes/remakes of the Turrican tune. Not as good as the original but Nebularia did a really good .it version (with permission) of the original tune.

I already know this remix and honnestly, at the time I discovered it, I never though that a IT module could produce a such impressive music ! This remake is perfect.

Have you heard his Ultima Ratio.it track as well? Probably the best sounding tracked music I have ever heard. You can hear the inspiration drawn from Bjorn Lynne & Jogeir Liljedahl, amongst others.

Jerry 04 October 2005 14:38

Anyone have these it-tracks by Nebularia in stock? Seems the guy has vanished from the web or I'm too stupid to use search engines!?

alexh 04 October 2005 15:34

Why you dont use the original TFMX files and Deliplayer or UADE I dunno.

You're never going to get Mods of the title screen as they are 7 channel!

Jerry 04 October 2005 15:59

I'm just curious to see what Nebularia did to the original track and I always had a heart for good tracked music. And as his version is made with IT the 4 channel limit should not be a problem either :)

Axxy 04 October 2005 19:18

I have all his released tracked mods. He mainly released mp3 versions....
You can find his .it mods at ftp://ftp.modland.com in the
pub/modules/impulsetracker/nebularia folder

In the Zone..

Thx,
it is a very nice remix though some of the cymbals don't sound too well.

mindphuk 31 January 2006 11:18

Hi. Since that's an old Thread, I hope someone will still read this reply...
However... is there a tracker who loads TFMX?
I'm looking for it because I want to do some remixes of some old gametracks. Yes, I got the TFMX-tracker as an UAE version but in my opinion this tracker is hard to use and I would need at least something -readable- to extract the notes from, so that it will be possible at least to convert the melody manually into the (standard Protracker-alike) format I use...:rolleyes

Jerry 31 January 2006 13:55

I've asked myself the same question, but I fear that we have to live with the original TFMX and get used to its style if we want to see the original notes. I think it doesn't justify the problems to write support for TFMX in a generic tracker as there are just too many effects that are close to the amiga hardware and so few tunes. Probably you can get a look at the fileformat and just get the patterns or something?
