Elite - Braben and Bell on TV Friday C5 7.30 ish

Sorry for the last minute news, but anybody interested in Elite in the UK might want to watch Channel 5 tonight (Friday) at about 7.30 - I think.

Cheers.

A few lies (not least of which was they sold a copy of Elite for every BBC Micro) but on the hole a good documentary.

Would help if the full synopsis was quoted: managed to create the worlds first FULLY 3D computer game in their bedrooms.

Which is true.

It doesn't seem to work with Windows Media Player streaming through firefox.

Shoonay 22 August 2008 23:10

oh, shiiitz... :(

tonyyeb 22 August 2008 23:12

Anyone got tunebite? That can rip the streaming from the computers display (bit like fraps).

Merlin 22 August 2008 23:14

WMP 11 crashes on my machine when I access the site, what format is the video stream in?

Shoonay 22 August 2008 23:16

If that had been part of the full synopsis I would have. But it wasn't.

Five's TV Guide said "The documentary series looking at the untold stories of British scientific innovations focuses on the development of Britain's 1.4 billion pound computer game industry. In the early 1980s, two pioneering Cambridge undergraduates set out to achieve the seemingly impossible task of developing the world's first 3-D computer game."

Which is not true ;)

Edit: I think we were looking at two different pages.

tonyyeb 22 August 2008 23:36

How about this:

rtsp://scds65.lon.llnw.net/a800/o1/bthttp/five/downloadstore/britswhomadethemodernworld/movies/Brits-Who-Made-The-Modern-World_S1_E3_Episode-3_STREAM.wmv

Opens in WMP.
