Source for 68k Mac games?
I'd like to have a go at Duke Nuke'em 3D finally. Does anybody know of a place where I can get hold of some old (68k) Mac titles?

Mac 68k Games - The Center for 680x0 Gaming
What about Macintosh Garden at http://mac.the-underdogs.org/ ??
It does not have DN3D but it is a good start point I guess. |
Was DN3d availablke for 68K macs? You sure?if so I should try it on the IIsi! Koro: try Prince of Persia on it. Rocks!
Fissuras: thanks for the link! I'll have some fun with it an the Macs :D |
Get the Hotline Client and do a search for 68k :) You will find all your 68k needs there :D
|
Hotline client? I never tried that. It works over the internet? or does it need to dial-up some numbers?
@Akira: you are welcome!!!!! |

Whats a good Emu for 68k Mac games, Retro? For PC and Mac?
|
Fred: run them natively with your Powermac :P I thought the newest ones would run games as fine (or bad) as the old 601s
For PC you should get Fusion! About Hotline... it's great for Macintosh stuff... I think it was created in Macintosh first. |
The PowerMac I was given had a corrupt file system on the HD:(
I have not gotten around to fixing it. I tried Bill Elliot's Nascar Challenge and Castles on my iBook . Both work to a point, but OS X emulation of 68k enviornment is faulty. I cannot save or scroll tyo fast or crash. |
@Fred
Try Basilik II for a good 68k emulation :) |
For Mac emulation, I use Basilisk JIT (version 0.8.1.142 I think, with OS8.1 and a Quadra 650 1meg ROM image and have had few problems with either utilities or games.
I run this on a PII-350/256meg/16meg Banshee, by the way. Beyond some very old titles that just don't seem to work, the only (admittedly minor) problem is that of an occasional glitch in sound playback (a very brief pause). For reference, titles that I have comfortably used include 'Chuck Yeager's Advanced...', 'Doom' and 'MS Flight Sim 2'. btw, I second Macintosh Garden, it's a great site and should keep you busy for a while :) |

But Korodny, I'm a freak. I must own every machine I like :)
You could get a Quadra 604 for nothing, that's a neat little 68K Macintosh system. |
I meant 605 :P look! for 50 measle bucks you can score a nice 68k system:

Akira, you should see the video capturing capability of one of these babies with a Spigot AV card.. yeah ... very nice indeed, I wish I had one of those cards.... |
I mean that model si tatty, the case has been damaged. I love teh case design, my Powermac 8100/80 has the exact same case.
The inbuilt capture card is pretty fucking nice.. This is a great machine for captures as you say! |
