Favorite Amiga appearances on TV/Movies

My favorite Amiga site-ing in the media was in the the 1987 movie Disorderlies (Warner Brothers) with the Fat Boys. I can't believe I'm admitting to watching it but there was an Amiga plain as day on a desk in one of the scenes.

Where did you see product placed Amigas?

i think this should be merged with the Lovejoy / Bones threads, but given this title ;)

nlandas 08 February 2008 19:30

Ooops, sorry, I'm relatively new to reading EAB and didn't bother to search for a related thread. Merging sounds good to me.

It's not an Amiga, but clearly the main computer in 'Cloudy, With a Chance of Meatballs' is a C=64. (Out now in the US..)

an Amiga 600 made an appearance on BBC4 tonight on "Charlie Brooker's Gameswipe" :)

He showed an article where an amiga PD game made it onto the 6 o'clock News!

There was also a classic black/yellow Competition Pro Joystick on the BBC4 ident beforehand.

Most importantly of all though was the MERCENARY advert in MySinclair :D:crazy

Definitely worth catching on the iPlayer if any UK peeps missed it.

Although Brooker started his career at PC Zone he does have a real affection for our beloved beige box of tricks.

Back on topic, I'm still waiting for someone to point me towards a clip of my fave Amiga on TV moment - and that's Aussie soap Neighbours, from either 1989 or 1990 when the character "Josh" is attempting to remove a virus from the Amiga in Paul Robinson's office, using the PD utility "Graphics Ripper". He even starts it up from one of those old CLI menu utility disks...

CBM Australia got a credit for quite some time at the end of Neighbours, presumably for supplying that solitary A2000!

I completely forgot about the Paul Robinson virus removal! :lol

They also had 2 x 500's. One at Paul's house and one at Josh's house (Robinson household).

Remember when Josh came home one day with a black box (was a modem). Hacked into the school PeeCee and changed their grades? :cheese

Only the Amiga makes it possible to goto jail :crying

In the UK on ITV around the early 90s "Rolf's Cartoon Club" had Amigas, can't remember which models but I remember watching it and going look Mum, "Amigas".

Has to be understood in the context that I was very young then!

Amiga appears in an episode of Bones. They've mixed it up a little but it's still definitely Amiga.

Was watching Russell Howard's Good News on BBC Three last night - you can watch it on the iPlayer here.

Fast forward to about 14:45 and knock me down with a feather if that isn't an A600 in the room...! Perhaps with a suitable 'retro' monitor to match though I'm not really an expert in that department...

I saw this last night. I keep finding people in Britain who owned A600s.

Fingerlickin_B 22 November 2009 09:38

I sighted an A1200 today in the movie "Two Hands" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0145547/ ) today.

It's when they are buying tickets at the airport, right near the end.
