Jocky Wilson's Darts Challenge - missing (wrong) title screen

2 Attachment(s)
You can see the title screen, when "Button Wait" is activated only, otherwise invisible.

Attached 2 new versions without HoL watter stamp (I don't know, what is better for you)

1. Title screen only (320*256)
2. Title screen+InGame screen together like main game picture in HoL (640*256)

Not sure where that title screen has coming from, but assuming the WHDLoad version since you said "ButtonWait" and would use the .IPFs.

The cracked disk versions I've tried of the following show exactly what's in HOL already:

... Jocky Wilson's Compendium Of Darts
... Jocky Wilson's Darts Challenge

Hmmm, there are no "Jocky Wilson" games preserved as .IPFs according to the SPS website.

I wonder where the WHDLoad version got that picture / data from?

Velociraptor5 05 November 2019 21:41

Interesting, cracked versions have no title screen, that's true. And SPS doesn't exist.....now I am not sure where the picture is from... (only WHDLoad)

WHDLoad info for Jocky Wilson's Darts Challenge says the following:

Code:

Thanks to DJ FuZion for disk image.
Just downloaded the WHDLoad version and it's a disk image, extracted that out loaded it up in WinUAE:

All the cracks might be "pre-sales" versions or just had the title screen removed...

I wonder if the disk has any protection; if so we'd need an EAB coder / cracker to make a good disk? :p

Disk in The Zone! for anyone that can check the above.

I found out.... look here http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari...arts_9693.html

Seems to be from the game Jocky Wilson's Darts but on ATARI ST...

Velociraptor5 05 November 2019 21:49

you are faster... so on ATARI ST used too

Well I tried copying the disk via X-Copy and no issues:

...but even if I boot the extracted original WinUAE halts after the title screen so there must be some sort of protection there :sad

Guess it needs to be cracked.

Thanks, I've uploaded the new screenshot to the HOL entry.

Your disk re-Zoned. Plays fine to the end and HOL pictures to back it up.

Awesome clenched!!! :bowdown :bowdown :bowdown

What did you do to fix, did you need to crack / hack something?

DamienD 06 November 2019 17:02

Hi clenched,

ross also took a quick look at this and mentioned that you would have removed the RNC copylock.

So renamed your disk "Jocky Wilson's Darts Challenge (1988)(Zeppelin)[cr clenched].adf" and reuploaded to The Zone! ;)
