Broken Uploads

Hi!

I have been going though the file-server and checking out some CDs. The following is a short list of CDs that did not work for me:

Code:

Gateway! v3 (Schatztruhe-GTI)(1998)(2 CDs).rar
The Essential Amiga CD (23-03-98)(BBS).rar

After unraring, the ISO(s) does not seem to be recognised as an ISO image. If you burn it anyway just as it is, it is not recognised on the Amiga either.

The following:
Code:

Workbench Add-On Volume 1 (1995)(GTI - Schatztruhe)[!].zip
is missing any other volumes - so I assume it's just one single volume?

I will list more when I find more... Hope that helps! :-)

There seems to be a few files on the server that are corrupt (not just CD's).

Unfortunately you can't tell until they're downloaded and unpacked.

Yeah, I am trying them on my new CD-ROM :P So perhaps it helps someone if they have a confirmation that some files they try are broken...

Perhaps they can be repaired somehow with some tool?

Another problem (well for me anyway) is that you don't know if the file is corrupt or that the game never worked anyway or you just can't get it to work and you think it's you.

Helps reporting them then... I had the same experience with SAS-C in "The Zone!"; it is missing some essential files. I tried compiling a simple example and it bombed out. Someone was kind enough to pass me a copy that worked perfectly...

Code:

Patchwork - TGV Haupt - Amiga - 1997.rar
contains an image that can be burned to a CD however, reading from the CD yield some spurious errors and results in several gurus. I have ran a virus checker but it seems virus free so far...

Another one:

Code:

LSD Compendium Deluxe Vol 3 (1995)(17 Bit Software).rar
Seems broken as well. ISO is not recognised and the Amiga does not recognise the CD either.

7-zip from 7-zip.org can view ISO files without mounting, may be fastest way to detect broken archives.

Another broken one:

Code:

Scene Storm Volume 1 (1996)(Active Software)[!].rar

Old thread but files moved to Commodore_Amiga\CD\AmigaCD\Broken_Files

Thanks.
