Seems Telltale finally managed to get the rights to make Monkey Island games.

Yay! :spin Now that are excellent news :bowdown I hope Telltale can make some decent episodes as they did with Sam & Max :) Also the remake doesn't look too bad. Guess it will just be a typical 'Lucas' makeover, but maybe... ;)

I'm not sure I like the style they picked, though... I'm one of those who prefer the style in the first two Monkey Island games.

Telltale episodes will have keyboard controls to move your character :(

BEst thing about thisw: they said they built SE "on top of the original code"... so maybe you can run it in ScummVM :)

The SE version has a switchable game mode via hotkey, from the HD remake to the original old version (with speech). Sweet. :)

Now that is a great option! Finally MI with speech and the original graphics :) I will still try the 'HD' version, but really good to know you get the original version with speech.

Just saw the so called "new" version of MI this morning, I dunno what to really think about it, I mean I'm all in for an updated remake, but i didn't really feel the great rush I thought I would when I got over the great news, tbh I think the new graphics update looked like ass. But at least we can switch back to the classy old school graphics with the touch of a button :)

Hmmm... after seeing the new graphics fullscreen... well... 'looks ass' pretty much hits the nail on the head ;)

This is literally the happiest I have ever been.

On a side note, I have to say that after looking at the list of people set to create the episodic content of monkey island, now that is an interesting setup and hopefully, just maybe with a little luck, they could bring Ron Gilbert on board to complete the circle, from what I could see he is after all the last piece they seem to be missing from the old monkey days. The way I see it, this is the chance to complete the "real" series :)

I doubt Gilbert will get involved, which is a shame. I systematically won't be interested in ANY game of Monkey Island where Ron Gilbert is not involved...
I am not much of a fan of the voiceovers... I'm not sure the casting is cortrect, and teh guy acting Guybrush is a dork.

I hate the new design and artwork. It looks so digital and clean. Other than that im loving the annoucement.

He's not formally involved, but it seems the project has his blessing...
