Flashback

jotd 31 July 2009 23:14

my non exhaustive list of very faithful remakes:

Push Over
Clockwiser
Alien Breed (Obliteration)
SWIV (Decimation)
Vigilante
Wings of Death
Lemmings
Turrican (T2002)
Gods (of course :))
Supercars 2
Lionheart
Flashback (Reminiscence)
StuntCarRacer
D/Generation (Regen)
Millenium
Apydia

The retroremakes website hosted a nice showcase but since they've been hacked, it's no longer available. PM me if you can't find some titles above.

The best one is missing, as always. ;)

Warblade = best Deluxe Galaga clone ever!!!

Monkey Island

To me, these are worth checking (loading in DOSBOX and stuff) if you wan't to compare versions,
or simply to have phun playing good ports :

All 4 : MS-DOS games obviously

Pinball Fantasies ?

NewDeli 03 August 2009 09:08

A very rare Windows 9x Slam Tilt version can be found (I will put it on my web site if necessary). Pinballs are a nice addition to these boring Windows versions, since they can be played with the keyboard and don't require fancy 3D modes.

I don't use these words in vain, Slam Tilt won't load on a XP or a Vista system, no matter what.

The opening post is not clear. Good Amiga games remade and good on PC or not? And must they be originally released only for Amiga? :)

Sensible Soccer and SWOS are great games but Amiga versions are far way better. Premier Manager 3, much faster on PC but I prefered Amiga version. TV Sports Boxing is available on PC too, Populous 2, Powermonger, Dune 2, Elvira, Wing Commander (not playable on 486, too fast), Logical, its different to Amiga version.

Turrican 2 is actually better on the pc , it uses 256colors...

Slam Tilt for Windows 95 is very playable but under Windows 98 menu have problems with speed (slowdowns).

Would I be right in thinking that was by the same author? He'd be going some to make it an inaccurate clone of his original game wouldn't he? ;)

I did perfectly well played ita few months ago on a 64bit Vista here ;)
And I know people who tried it on a XP without any problems.
