International Open Golf Championship
Heya guys,
Anyone know how to get International Open Golf Championship running consistently in WinUAE? Using the only available files (.ADFs from TOSEC), I can actually get to the title screen without a software error 3 of 20 attempts :sad Tried every single conceivable AGA configuration / logical settings change. |
work with whdload generic. Archive in the eab ftp. You can make a hdf with (extract the directory data)
|
Thanks Aladin, that's my last option.
I'm sure there's probably a native installer on disk so this is what I'll do next; if nobody knows how to get the .ADFs working reliably. |
on gamebase Amiga there are working ADF
|
There is only one set avaliable; .ADFs and no .IPFs...
Of course Gamebase Amiga uses this as do I; that's not the topic of the thread. |
There's something seriously messed up with this game...
Installed to my "Classic WB Lite 3.1" .HDF and works everytime... Used SnoopDos; nothing special needed. Created a self-booting / bare bones .HDF; crashed 70% of the time :banghead Installed standard WB 3.1 and then the game; crashed 70% of the time :banghead ...can't figure this one out :scream |
Are you having an issue with a HD installed version or loading from disk?
I tried with the GBAmiga disk version and it works fine. Tried multiple times and always made it to the title screen without issue. Went in-game and that worked too. A1200 Basic non-expanded configuration quickstart with compatibility slider set to 2. Tried with 1 and 2 drives and both times it worked. |

...but doesn't explain why the various HD installs I've done fail. |
Various Quickstart settings are the first thing I tried after having issues...
Still happens here even after following what you've suggested :sad |

Just installed a clean Workbench 3.1 HD and installed the game from the same disks. Same config as before, except 4 drives this time. Works fine. |
What the???
...trust me; as per posts in this thread I've exhausted a lot of different options / settings. Please post your magical .UAE file and I'll try to work out what's different (as I've tried everything for the past 2 hours and also followed your suggestions but still crashing) :banghead |

Nothing special about it, but here it is.
|
Thanks man, appreciated ;)
...but still get this most times as per usual: https://www.imageupload.co.uk/images...4crCSL_001.png |
Maybe I'm just really lucky? It's consistently worked fine for me. Tried at least 5 times now.
|
I've tried over a 100 times now; .ADFs and the HD install on various scenarios...

I honestly don't know. It works here without any issues. I haven't done anything special. WinUAE portable install. Quickstart A1200. 1 or 2 drives. |
...and trust me I tried that; plus many other settings / options before even creating the thread :agree
Thing is, we are both using WinUAE 3.6.1; registry vs. portable makes zero difference. |

Hopefully someone else can chime in with a magical answer. |
Where's ross when I need him :p
...to me it's not a WinUAE bug; given Toni's 2 x decades of moving forward; emulation is 99% perfect :agree No, I think it's an issue with the files in some respect; which I'm sure an experienced coder can identify quickly. |
Bad crack maybe ? I have uncracked version if you want (has manual check, which i can't pass due manual lost somewhere).
