A1200 / Blizzard 1230IV / CD Rom Problems - Please Help
Hi,
I am really in desperate need of help here. I have an Amiga 1200 in a tower with a Blizzard 1230IV and am unable to get the CD Rom working. Ideally what I need is a total idiots guide to this. I have installed Workbench 3.1 and then in tools that came with the Blizzard hardware. This was the blizzard Accelerator SCSI System Disk. It installed various tools within a CyberSCSI folder. Running Unit Control, it tells me the following about my CD Rom. Board 0 Unit 6 Lun 0 CD-ROM CDU-76S 16cd0:.1c From here I can suscesfully Eject themo CD Rom. I have followed the instructions to the letter with regards to this CD and installing AmiCDFS but it absolutely will not see any CD's that are put into the system. The contents of CD0 are: Device = scsi.device Unit = 6 FileSystem = L:AmiCDFS Flags = 0 BlocksPerTrack = 32 Blocksize = 2048 Reserved = 0 LowCyl = 0 HighCyl = 11000 Surfaces = 1 Buffers = 64 BufMemType = 1 Mask = 0x7fffffff GlobVec = -1 Priority = 10 DosType = 0x43444653 StackSize = 600 Mount = 1 Control = "LC BL=8 FB=32" ...any help that anyone can give would be greatly appricahted. I am at my witts end here. |

AFAIK the Blizzard SCSI kit uses 1230scsi.device and not scsi.device. The latter is for the internal IDE controller.

Yay!
Thomas, indeed you are 100% correct. I changed the entry in the settings and it's working perfectly now. Many thanks for your help with this. :) :) :) |

It is YOU Harvey, you could have asked me by email and I would have willingly helped. Of course I knew that one ;) |
Hehe! Well I was only just back after being away for a while.
I saw the message that you'd left your CD in the drive and thought I'd sort that out before approaching you for help on stuff! Didn't want to come across as taking the p**s! |
Glad to see you've sorted it Harv.
I hope it performs better than the 2x(!) SCSI drive I occasionally attach to my A1200 :D |
