Anybody to send Great Giana sister ?
Hello,
I'm looking for Great Giana Sister, working for real A1200 ! Ask me for ur request. Thank you. |
i'm uploading WHDLoad version.
|
Thank you Frog !
|
This game could have been found at TomTom's, through a Google search. Pay attention to the Forum Rules and the "how to find a game before requesting" FAQ , Giana. S'il vous plait :D

Can I bring up the cloud issue again?
*everyone shouts SHUT UP* ok. sorry. :( |
Everybody ... but not me!
I'd like this to be solved in the ADF version, too. I've yet to find an ADF with visible clouds. |
Hi guys...
Just to let you know that we recently got hold of an original 100% verified copy of this game. So this issue *will* get resolved! :) Maybe not today, maybe not tomorow, but soon! |
How did Walker take a screenshot? WHDLoad version perhaps?
I thought you found an ADF with the clouds, Andreas! |
No!!
That was definitely NOT me! Some other German guy managed to find a bug in the crack and corrected it. I still don't have an GS ADF image with visible clouds. It doesn't make sense to spread a version with an old and fixed crack, in my opinion. Therefore the "fixer" refused to put it on TOSEC, with a reason. |
It was me...
I took the Lightforce crack (which is an 'improved Skyline version') and skipped the execution of the intro and trainer. The clouds were visible. Further investigation revealed that the intro (or was it the trainer?) modified the BPLCON2 register which wasn't restored on exit. The game itself assumes a standard value in this register. The value makes the clouds (they're sprites!) invisible because they are drawn behind the sky bitplane. So it is very likely that the original game has visible clouds. I've never seen an original Great Giana Sisters disk, maybe because it had to be cancelled (Big N. is watching you). BTW: Anyone noticed the incorrect spelling of Giana in the scrolling title 'level'? |

Yes, I've noticed this before. A few other games suffer programmers' lack of consistent spelling. :D |
I swear my cracked version had clouds.....I'll check :)
|
YES :-)
It runs on A1200 and has clouds ! It's a disk ! Not WHDLoad. I got this like 6 years ago ! Here's the info from the crack screen: Intro is by Red Sector. Cracked by Mr Zero Page. They talk of good fun cracking it cause of extra sectors. "Very nice copy protection but the copy killer was killed" But I've looked in TOSEC and there are 3 versions of this by RSI ! So how come this is rare ? Is this still required or has this post expired ? |
Please,
I have checked the tosec versions and they have no clouds :( Worth a peak :) even though the version I have on disk (In the loft) has clouds as I remember seeing them! |
Update : This version in Tosec HAS clouds :)
Great Giana Sisters, The (1988)(Time Warp Productions)[cr HQC][t Skyline].zip Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :) |
When you speak of clouds, you mean those little white things in the sky on level 1 !! ? I ask this as I don't know the game too well, and you might speak of other clouds on later levels !
It has those. And I'm surpised to see this runs on my vanilla A1200 with no special boot options. I will hope to upload to the zone today, along with some other stuff I've been promising. |

Well - this is RSi, and if you've checked the other RSi's and they don't have clouds then this is the working RSi so still deserves a dump. Does your HQC version work on real A1200 ? |
Yes those fluffy white things on lev1, run one of the RSI tosec versions to see NO clouds :)
Dunno if it works on a 1200 m8 (Not got one anymore :( ).. Still worth a dump and putting in Tosec I agree... :) |
I downloaded a version from Tom Tom and there were clouds.

Faaantastic! :great And thanks too to the owner of that private FTP letting me download this file from the TOSEC 0.22 set! :D (Emuchina went at 0.18 k/sec (!!!) and timed out three times, whilst planetemu didn't have the game at all because it's TOSEC 0.22-only! There are really TOO MANY people knowing this site now. :rolleyes) |
