It's the... Favorite genre poll!!!

Seeing these threads: The Amiga's Best Genre? & What is your fave GENRE?, I've comeup with an idea about this poll ;)
Multiple choices are allowed, and the voting is public.
Enjoy & discuss! :D

I've gone for mainly arcade-based ones (including Arcade, obviously), I do enjoy the odd strategy or adventure game but I generally prefer something more immediate :)

The Amiga is very strong in most genres I think (with the exception of beat-em-ups and FPSs), there are a lot of great games but it's not just restricted to one or two genres.

Shoonay 07 June 2007 21:02

I'd say I've enjoyed or even started to enojoy a few of the genres, thanks to Amiga ;)
...and about beat-em-ups: it was either the Street Fighter 2 or Mortal Kombat 1&2 conversions at home or the arcade versions (at usually occupied, not to mention not-free and filled with punks, "gaming houses"), so I did enjoy those few on the Amy when I was a kid ;). Besides, there's the almighty Amiga-only Franko and Doman :D

s2325 07 June 2007 21:06

Franko was for PC too.

Shoonay 07 June 2007 21:08

Shit. :blased

Ironclaw 07 June 2007 21:11

Easy for me.. ADVENTURE!.

Chain 08 June 2007 00:00

Adventure and platform games are best genres on miggy

killergorilla 08 June 2007 11:08

I picked:

Arcade
Platform
Shoot-em-up

I think they probably cover all of my fave Amiga games (except Monkey Island 1/2)

EmuChicken 08 June 2007 11:19

wooo!!

first vote for adult! :>

Graham Humphrey 08 June 2007 11:20

I was just wondering how long it would be before someone voted for that ;)

EmuChicken 08 June 2007 11:23

I didnt JUST vote for that though :)

lopos2000 08 June 2007 11:45

I voted for:
S(t)imulation
Sport
Strategy &
RPG

humble worm 08 June 2007 12:15

cannon fodder, cadaver, SOTB II - what genres they belong to?

This is what I like most about amiga games - the best make their own genres :)

TheBoss 08 June 2007 12:22

Strategy of course :)

Is it the fact that someone has voted for those genres that makes you upset... or is it that you don't find them valid genres (or something else)?

Have a KitKat :laughing:laughing:agree

I voted for Card game and Board game genres. I would never have done that if it hadn't been for the supremely excellent Total Chaos AGA
which has completely redefined what a card game or board game should be.

DamienD 08 June 2007 18:58

I voted for; Action, Adventure, Arcade, Beat-'em-up, Platform, Racing and Shoot-'em-up ;)

If I had to choose only one it would be Arcade as that encompassed all of my above choices besides Adventure :p
