Strong Narrative

Can anyone suggest an amiga game with a strong narrative as most of the games i find are just mindless platformers. I'd like something witha story any suggestions.

KombatSanta 03 August 2002 17:13

coming from me, this is a standard answer I give when people ask for good games to Amiga in general:

Monkey Island 1 & 2 or any other Lucas Arts game!

...and Simon The Sorcerer is just brilliant!

RetroMan 03 August 2002 19:40

Beneath a steel sky
Eye of the Beholder I & II

..... and any other Adventure/RPG out there :cheese

If you wnt narrative, and lots of it, try one of the Infocom text adventures :D

..or Future Wars, Operation Stealth, Space Quest III.

but if you're not into adventure games, why not try Dune, Dune II or simular or perhaps games like Civ or that game where you were to colonize worlds in space... what's the name of that game? aaargh

K240?

My suggestion: Liberation.

Shatterhand 04 August 2002 03:25

Hmm.. if you asked for others systems , I would know a few good ones :)

Dreamweb is a good choice, IMO.
Good plot and a good narrative.

There are hundreds of Amiga games with deep and involving stories and development.

Take a look at this page, its a good starting point. Unfortunately, its abandoned and needs an update.

I would also say Either:

Secret of Monkey Island
Secret of Monkey Island 2 - Le Chuck Revenge
Simon the Sorcerer

Or

If you don't mind the STRONG FLICKERING graphics may I suggest darkseed (One of my All time favorite games)

Hmmm. What a unique request. :)

Ok, my nominee will be the excellent Legends

CPC464 04 August 2002 22:34

@ Kombat Santa

BY "I WOULD ALSO SAY"

I meant that I agreed with what the other PPL who suggested these games meant :)

Sorry for any confusion :)

KombatSanta 04 August 2002 23:37

That's ok... I'm Sviidiish you know, I get confused very easy:)

me too i was thinking about it yesterday, i want to play something new (well old) with strong narrative, but for this i don't mean a text adv, even if there are exemples of strong telling between them, like Anchorhead (try it guys).
for instance, my token is that Loom HAS strong narrative, while Monkey Island, as hilarious and great can be, HAS NOT; it is too much concerned with the characters (very well rendered) but it has no real concept of identification with a hero's path, in a real way.
Perihelion had too, with also not many lines of text! Eye of the Beholder, one of my fav games, had not!
etc
this is my token (as authoritative it is :cheese ), but i'm curious to listen new opinions and suggestions in games to pick

Not very deep,.. but DragonStone was nice for me. Just I find hard to play games in english. This one had a nice story.

maybe Darkmere is interesting too. I never got into.

Also Hybris has a nice narrative,.. boom zapzap kabooom.. :cheese

oldpx 20 September 2004 22:25

Yes dragonstone is really nice, darkmere is as good believe me :)

Marcuz 21 September 2004 00:33

yep Darkmere is a must try indeed, it has great start, but i did not dig that much cap 2 and 3; but i haven't finished it, so maybe it gets better at the end
