Ziriax 100% by Ross

Would anyone be interested in adding support to the Ziriax slave for this 100% version of Ziriax ?

Or make a new slave, whatever is best.

Isn't the original SPS 3001 ipf 100% ?
My understanding is that all the old cracks were from an unfinished/beta review copy sent to some magazines which got leaked and spread back in the day.

You're probably right. Otherwise Stingray would have updated his good patch some weeks ago. Completed it some time ago. Worked perfectly fine. With high-score saver, cheats, joypad support.

Unfortunately not, so some data is artificially added to whdload version.

yes cylinder 153 is faulty. However, please note that i have made an extended ADF with the faulty track replaced by the fix done by my colleagues at SPS :)

Hi Denis, it was a good source for the ultimate version ;)

Beta tester with real 030+ w/MMU machine wanted :)

I've a very strange issue in WinUAE in all config. with MMU set and only if my Ziriax slave is launched from WHDload.
If in real-time I enable/disable MMU from WinUAE control panel, strangeness disappear..
(this makes me think that the problem is not in my code, but who know..)
Logically I've tried ALL the possible options for WHDload and starting from completely clean systems.

To sort out I need a real machine test bed.
If interested please contact me.

Thanks.

EDIT: added image, see the 'green ghost' near some objects
mmh, vaguely remember Tony said to me that MMU emulation can break cycle exact emulation (but i can remember wrong :)), but why only if the code launched from WHDload?
EDIT2: no, also from ADF w/MMU there are glitches, so actually MMU emulation brings out the problem ;)

More correct question is: does it happen if you use some other CPU speeds. Without MMU.

You can't confirm this kind of problem not happening just by testing some random 68030 real hardware config, it still can happen with some other.

Hi Toni, happened for every CPU speeds i've tried (x4, x8, xxMhz).
And every CPU w/MMU (030, 040, 060).

When I disable (real time or not) MMU all works properly (for the same config).

Ok thanks to Toni i've better understood how to interpret the WinUAE options.
'CE full' for some advanced configuration may not be the best option.
And Ziriax use some 'on the edge' code that can be critical.

So: glithes with MMU can be ignored or bypassed by changing an option.

Waiting result from beta testers from real machines (that I thank in advance).
Then I can fix real problems :)

I sent my Ziriax disk when SPS members request it(standard amiga CAPS disk wasn't enough). After some time IPF file was released. Personally I never tested this IPF but I'm sure SPS member are 100% sure that faulty sector was correctly extracted.

I also remember that author of slave (Wepl at the time) mentioned that he know about this sector and somehow he also fix it for whdload slave years before IPF release.

dlfrsilver 09 May 2018 23:42

I gave Wepl an MFM image of my Ziriax original disk, and he has corrected the MFM fault, and finally extracted cylinder 153, and added it decoded inside the whdload install.
