New Zealand Story for the DS!
Looks as though New Zealand Story is gonna make an appearance on the Ninty DS!
http://news.spong.com/article/10420 From the look of the screenshots the bottom screen is gonna be used for a map, and it looks like they've changed the belly of the whale boss to take advantage of the dual screens. I'd like to playtest this once it comes out (if it finally makes it) |
Another day, another remake
The graphics look good and it has been given an overhaul. If only I have, and are able to use, an DS. Quote:

Yeah I know you could see inside the whale on the Amiga version but that was only when you were eaten, if you look on the DS screenshot the inside of the whale is visible from the start.
Also, there appear to be crates/boxes in the air, possibly to protect tiki? |
Looks cool, wish I had a DS ;)
|
Have a DS with Supercard. But there is not a lot of cool games till now.90% japaneese crap, and just the rest for european and US releases.:bash
The best game so far is NANOSTRAY by ex ABYSS dudes. But sadly this is the only shoot em up for the DS.:confused :crying Hope to see looooots more euro releases soon. |
Looks nice. My reasons to get a DS are growing by the day.

There is also:
... Rainbow Islands Revolutions http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/2005/10/13/104,1129139687,44520,0,0.html ... Bubble Bobble Evolutions (see image) ... Dig Dug Digging Strike ;) |
I've played Bubble Bobble Revolution. It has two modes, one an exact arcade port (emulation?) that only uses the bottom screen, and the updated version shown in DamienD's screenshot. The updated version plays like a PD game written in AMOS.

Exactly my thoughts. The remake is poor. |

Jocks and wannabe soldiers can have their PS3 and be bored witless by sports sims and wargames, and leave the really fun stuff for us. ;) |
IMO those graphics are completely crap: how the hell could they make that cute little kiwi look so fat and sad?! :nuts
Best way to play TNZS these days is on a PSP, where the original arcade is packed into the Taito Memories Pocket umd -> http://www.the-magicbox.com/0512/game051214c.shtml :great |

Pity I don't have a PSP :crying Oh well, I can play them through MAME32 of course ;) |
its a shame the arcade version of NZS is so different to the amiga one (which imho is the superior version).... but that compilation sounds interesting, so i think i might look into it!
|
hmm What arcade version are you playing?
Apparently Amiga version is based on the Japanese Arcade version. ps: I live in New Zealand, TNZS has many flaws. |
