problems w/ 68k netsurf, dosbox, and sdl (solved)
Hello all. Thanks to a post on AW.net, I got SDL working on my system, however Netsurf and DosBox still don't work, seemingly due to SDL's sdl_hwsurface and sdl_swsurface env: variables (according to snoopdos). The AW post is at http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/...orum=27#498877 . I have an A1200 mediator tower w/ a Virge card, and am hoping this isn't an incompatability with the Mediator. (I've run netsurf on WinUAE by just dropping SDL and IX-whatever-.library into libs: ) Any ideas?

Looks like the problem is Amiga SDL won't work with the 24-bit mode my Workbench was set to. I dropped to 16-bit, and it all worked fine, aside from a severe GFX slowdown. I'm going to have to run such apps in their own screen (not willing to give up my 24-bit WB, the too many conversions from 24-bit data, plus the "Alpha channel" with pngicons seems to work better under 24-bit) When I get the money, I'll have to upgrade to a 32-bit card.
