Amiga programming books, mags, etc...

Hi,

sorry if this the wrong section for this. :)
Which Amiga programming books, magazines, resources, etc... with articles, tutorials, hardware information, etc... exist?
Do you know any? And if there is some place where I could download them?
(I'm interested in Assembly language, Intuition programming and how to program and mount custom devices for a project of mine for my A500).

Thanks

on http://amigacoding.com there's a list of books usefull for 680x0 coding:
http://www.amigacoding.com/index.php/680x0:Books

The 'Amiga Related Books FAQ' has a long list of books:
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/amiga/books/

You can also try searching for tutorials in old magazines on http://amr.abime.net/

there are probably a lot of old threads on EAB about tutorials...
one recent about books: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=34426

Thank you. The two first links are very useful. :) I can still remember programming in AMOS for the first time when I got it through an Amiga Format coverdisk. ;)

I actually already know assembler. I once made a program which is on Aminet (orion.lzh) for transfering files between an Amiga and a PC, and I made a follow up with parallel cables (faaaast) which I never released and lost the code :crying. I'm now thinking on making a much more modern and refined version (but one which still works in OS 1.3 and with 512KB RAM). The only programming information I had available at the time and ever since I had my first Amiga were Amiga Shopper magazines and some disks with tutorials. :(

I love C, but I don't think I can get a compiler to work on my 1MB, no HD, Amiga 500.

I'm also gathering information to build an floppy disk controller for the PC to read and write Amiga disks.

I've acquired the following books so far:
- Amiga System Programmer's Guide
- Amiga Programmer's Handbook
- Amiga Programmer's Handbook vol. 2
- Amiga Disk Drives: Inside and Out
- Compute's Amiga Programmer's Guide

I'm trying to acquire the ROM Kernel manuals, but they are hard to find at an acceptable price.

hello,

see this link (the previous thread on this eab part):

http://pub.eLowar.com/AmigaDev/

and I have uploaded to you on the zone!

amigadocs.lha with lots of docs inside for amiga programming.

BlueAchenar 16 February 2008 17:32

Thanks! The only problem is that I don't have access to the Zone :sad. I'll try to find that archive somewhere else. :)

I thought the Zone was another thing. :p I can't find amigadocs.lha inside though.

That's because it was removed due to dubious legality.

Hello,

There are no-authorized files inside ????

Tell me the name and I remove the files and upload again, if requested.

hello,

Oh yes and even 2 times on the archives :-\. I'm so sorry.

poohbear 17 February 2008 17:22

I would be very interested in an updated archive (with the Guru Book removed) if your offer still stands.

AlfaRomeo 23 October 2008 01:07

Can anyone upload amigadocs.lha (without Guru Book) to the zone, please? :)
