Custom CD32 Covers online
A new project is online and will feature custom covers for Amiga CD32 games.
The first cover I have done is for Magic Island CD32 :spin If you have any requests or some custom covers yourself you want to upload on the site, let me know, enjoy :great Link: customcovers.webhop.org |
So, hello Custom CD32 Covers online-Thread :D
At first: My brand new Magic Island CD32 Special Edition is ready and beautifies my Amiga CD-Collection :) Thanks! It would be cool to see more of these CD-Covers. There are many CD32 and Amiga CD-games that don´t have a Cover or Inlay. And perhaps a printable CD-label, too. Suitable for Lightscribe! |
You are rightviddi, there are a bunch of cd games that didnt have a cd cover like Marvins Marvellous Adventure and Flink comes to my mind.
A CD-label is a very good idea, I have only done a few before, hopefully I have the right tools. Is one needed for Magic Island? |
If you have the time to create one, sure!!
I´ll check my CD-Games and post a list of games without CD-Cover here. Flink has a manual that fit into a CD-Case. So just the Inlay is missing ;) |
Alright I will work on a CD-label for Magic Island later today when I have slept :sleep
A list of some games missing covers would be nice indeed, thx viddi :great |
Oki, good night :)
|
Here is my list:
- Pinball Illusions - Fightin´ Spirit - Syndicate - Powder - Marvin´s M. Adventure - Cedric - Brian the lion - Black Viper - Flink - Oscar / Diggers - Virtual Karting II - Pinball Braindamage - Sixth Sense Investigations - Samba World Cup - Theme Park (original release) - Jaktar - der Elfenstein - Oldtimer WORK IN PROGRESS - Star Crusader - Nemac IV DC - Frontier - Mag! - Fears (german release) - Super Streetfighter II Turbo - Wing Commander / Dangerous Streets Some of this games came with CD-Inlay. RED: Finished. |
Thats a bunch already :crying :D
Here is my Magic Island CD32 disc art I choose to keep with the style of the rest of the jewelcase cover I did. Hope its fine and usefull :spin Remember to use a cover program (like the one in NERO) to resize the image to fit the cd correctly before you print it. http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/9...dischp4.th.jpg Click for big picture |

Couldn't you just let the image cover the whole CD (except for the actual 1 cm drill hole), instead of blinding out a center area of 3cm diameter. There are different types of printable CD-R on the market. Some of them (Verbatim, TDK) have an Inkjet printable area which covers almost the complete CD surface. It would look better if I could print the whole area, like in the following example: EDIT: picture removed |
I was a bit confused on how big the cdhole should be as Im not experinced at cd cover art designs. I just choose 1 that seems to be used alot on the old amiga cds I have. I'll try and fix it later today so its like the picture you show :) Any chance you might have some cd templates around?
Currently im finishing work on the requested Star Crusader CD32 edition front/back cover, so they will be online on website shortly :cool |
No more will Star Crusader CD32 be without a cover, it's now online in the custom covers archive :)

I have printed at least 50 CD-R (only Verbatim type), and had good results with above specifications. It is not a problem if the Inkjet-printer prints an area which is not covered by printable surface (so that ink meets plastics). This ink can be removed easily with a tissue. I unfortunately don't have a template. I make CD prints with an application for Macintosh which came with my Epson printer, and I only have to drag and drop images into a mask, and the program does everything "automagically". Cheers, Torsten |
Alright redid it and made a circle of 1,5 cm, hopefully this is the correct way?

Great stuff.
If I find the time, I´ll design a new cover artwork, too. So, see you tomorrow. |

Without reading this thread properly as I have to go to bed, someone was making covers and uploading them somewhere on www.underground-gamer.com FYI.
|
Would be cool if you could mess around photoshop viddi :great
I will be sure to follow the 1,5 cm hole standard from now on. Pinball Illusions CD32 cover is done and uploaded ;) http://img468.imageshack.us/img468/1...2froel2.th.jpg http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/8...2baclh1.th.jpg Mark Thompson: Will check later as I need to be member apparently to see anything. |
Nicely done! I look forward to seeing more of these... It always frustrates me how my CD32 collection is all mismatched due to releases that didn't have inserts.

Here is my artwork of Black Viper.
If you need BMP-files of these pics please tell me. I hope you like it :) |
Beautiful artwork on Black Viper viddi :great
I will upload your art in the Custom Cover Archive as soon as I get to my pc ;) I'm currently downstairs using my Laptop due to stairs and floor are under treatment so they will look better, will take almost 5 hours before I can use the stairs again, ouch! |
