ADF to DMS
Hi all,
Is there a program for converting ADF back to DMS ?, as I have some games I put on my Winuae a few years back and now i have set up my 1200 1 of my original games has a read error on 2 of the disks. So if I can convert it back it would help. Thanks in advance. |
Why is DMS better than ADF ? You can write ADF directly to disk without converting to DMS first.

Hi Megamix,
Use the Amiga version of DMS from within WinUAE. :) Quote:

You cannot write DMS from within WinUAE, either.

His original Amiga disks have developed read errors. He wishes to transfer image files back to his Amiga to restore to disks there. But the ADFs will not fit on a 720K DOS-formatted floppy. Hence the need for DMS images. :) Edit: I suppose he could use PC and Amiga split and join utilities and transfer part ADF images using DOS-formatted disks to achieve the same result without converting to DMS. |

I would prefer PCMCIA adapter for fast and easy file transfer.

thanks everyone for your help, but you may have misunderstud.
the ADF disks are now on a cd rom and have been copied to my Amiga hard drive, what I`m after doing is converting them from .ADF files back to .DMS so I can put them back on "real Amiga floppies" or back to the original dsiks. I need to find a program that will convert them back to .DMS on the PC then copy them to cd and write them from my Amiga back to floppy disk. Thanks again I`ll keep looking. |
As I already said, you don't need DMS, you can write ADF directly to disk. There are many tools to do this: http://aminet.net/search?path[]=disk&readme=adf

ADFBlitzer is fast and superb...i cannot see why you need to convert them to DMS.

THanks. |
It's not because Thomas is writing in this thread, but i would really recommend his tool:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/tsgui One of the best and most complete in my opinion. Used it extensively on my A4000. |
