Curious of status of Classic market

Out of curiosity, how is the classic game market doing from a vendor point of view? Is the sale figures improving these days, to a point where it encourages future developments?

To me it seems like activity is improving/increasing, but that might be cause Im paying closer attention myself overall due to getting a Vampire.

Generally I dont see too many comments regarding this, vendors seems to be holding their cards close to the chest.
Wings for AOS 4 had rather low number of sales, but personally I think thats partially cause many did purchase the Windows version before the AOS4 version arrived.

Anyhow, vendors/developers care to comment? :agree

'market' the only way you are doing Amiga games now is because you enjoy it, seeing it as a commercial venture is just absurd.

Ofcourse its "absurd" from a commercial point of view.

Its not what I asked really.

i think it's very small, probably some hundreds remaining that buy software, about 500 to 1000 people. Much more if we talk about hardware sales (accelerators etc) maybe about 5000 to 10000 people.

I prefer to spend money on hardware than software today, unless the software is related to the hardware somehow. I do not see the point of buying a boxed 2016 game for €30 or so, especially since the quality of a 2016 game is not necessarily better than the top ones back from the 90s. I might be tempted if the prices are in iTunes/Google Play price region.
Sam's Journey on the C64 is a welcome exception to this observation, imagine they would have had the knowledge to develop such a game back in 1984, the C64 would have sold many many millions more!

When you can buy games like Shantae Risky's Revenge for 5$ on Steam, then an Amiga game should be of same price range, download only, as adf and hd version and of similar quality, great graphics and music and most important... well planned.
If it is a success as a download (5000+ sales) then release a boxed collector's version.

I myself would buy digital download Amiga games for a fiver, that is for sure.
