EgoWings - Alpha footage of a new Shoot em up on the Amiga
https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OkYrbr-i5...0/EgoWings.jpg
During these last few years Javier Alcaniz with music by Carlos Del Alamo has been hard at work on a brand new Shoot em up in development for the Amiga, with specifications only requiring an Amiga 500 (1meg). Although the screenshot above doesn't look like much, the video shows off a good glimpse of the game in action, with decent enough landscapes, enemy waves and lots of blasting to be done. For anyone wanting to play the game, there are hints of a demo release toward XMAS! https://youtu.be/qCZ9QOxiQcg So far we don't have a release date for the full version but thanks to Per-Ola Eriksson's heads up, we are still looking forward to playing the demo during the festive season. Here is "Beta 2" version.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxlr7aeukaM It's with music in-game, but slower than "alpha". And there's music for game made by Carlos "Estrayk" Del Alamo (mentioned in some other topic). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rikP1WMKO_E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbDYAXDnxJ0 |
It seems good.

I like the work so far! :)
Gfx are cool though there's some room for improvement (especially that sea tile and cleaning up some dithering ), concept art looks amazing and music is really good! Alpha demo moves perfectly but Beta is a bit dissapointing in that aspect (due to the inclusion of music perhaps?). I'd suggest to do what's necessary to improve fps at all costs. Is this AMOS? |
AFAIK it's AMOS. Beta have more than only music, e.g. there's (laggy but it is) score counter and more bullets on screen.
|
Thanks for the share! :D
|
Music and GFX look good, AMOS seems to be holding it back though, I am afraid.
The tunes may be taking up too much memory, I see they are 156KB and 47KB respectively. |
So many great projects :) I'm sure Ego Wings will be great game.
|
A suggestion if I may, different colouring of player bullets and enemy ones, it gets confusing sometimes.

Cool pixels an msx. FPS is something to work on here. But looks promising.
|
I really enjoy this type of games, and the chipstyle music is VERY encouraging. A good game with crap music ruins alot of the enjoyment, so Im very pleased that you have a solid musician on the team!
With regards to the FPS issue; how does it play on a faster machine like A1200 with the rather common acceleration of 030 cpu? Either way, this looks very promising! |
Hello
Are there some news about Ego Wings? |
Be patient, the project is not cancelled. Jude can talk more about it.
Here the awesome musics form @Estrayk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbDYAXDnxJ0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rikP1WMKO_E here lastest Alpha versions. Version A http://www.retrowiki.es/download/file.php?id=1877 Version B http://www.retrowiki.es/download/file.php?id=1878 Jude "JudasEZT" want 50 fps and this need more development. Here a small gameplay in Amiga 500. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxlr7aeukaM |
Looks great!

@kikems
Thanks for materials, but... well, see the post #2 ;-) And, indeed Estrayk tunes are very good ones. Is there planned some power up system? |

Did you know that Worms! For example was written in blitz basic? I think EgoWings looks very good, the graphics are nice, the action is there and the ship is very nicely animated! Kudos to the developers and I hope to load this one up on my Amiga soon:) |
But 50fps with Amos, is that even possible ?
