Ghosts n Goblins - Not A600 friendly?

I've tried all the versions I can get my hands on including the SPS version but none of them want to work on my A600.

I've tried using relokick with no success. Does this game hate ECS that much?

Did you try the Flashtro crack? I just tested that one in WinUAE on an A600 config and it loaded fine.

Thanks for the reply. Isn't that Ghouls n Ghosts? I can't find a Flashtro version of Ghosts n Goblins.

Thanks! That version seems to work well. Any idea if this one has the missing levels?

Not sure to be honest but it was cracked more recently than the others so it has more chance of being 100% I think.

It comes from my original game disk. All the levels + the 512k/1Mb version on the disk.

That's brilliant. Thanks to the both of you. Any idea what had to be done to get it working with the A600?

Just load the game.

The game is working great. I'm just asking what changes were made to make it ECS compatible.

CFOU did many patches/fixes on this one :)

The original release of the game was coded to only work on machines with slow ram in the trapdoor slot, i.e. memory mapped to address $c00000, which of course A600's didn't have, theirs were entirely chip ram.

Great info, thanks Galahad. I was hoping to ask you a question about Relokick. I've noticed that sometimes it stays resident on a reboot and sometimes not. Is there any way to keep it resident until a hard reset?

Unfortunately not.

It is entirely dependent whether the game you're using writes over the reset vectors or overwrites the kickstart image which is now in ram.

A total lottery im afraid.

I thought so, but it's certainly not a big deal. Thanks for the reply.

In the 90's I bought an Elite compilation with 5 games including Ghosts'n'Goblins, and it worked on the A600 with 1MB Chip Ram.
The compilation was this but for Amiga obviously.

Unfortunately, I never found an updated and working version of Commando (also by Elite) that worked on A600.
At the moment I have inserted the WHDLoad version into a disk and it works with 2MB of Chip Ram.
