It appears that there is going to be a re-release of the Classic Ports of Call on Steam.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1..._Call_Classic/

Looks to be a pretty cheap one at only $4.99 USD

It could be cool !
But those days nothing like this.

So basically you're looking for a modern financial simulator?

What do you mean by - easy to use??

Most games I play you have to make money/collect stuff to progress... and all of them are very different games, from Elite (to new Elite Dangerous), Runes of Magic (MMORPG) to Pirates! (old and new version), Master of Orion...

Most of simulation games are like that...

If you liked Pirates! I would suggest to try Tempest!

You can try these games:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3...cean_2_Rivals/

They are also heavily discounted on steam sales!!

Along with the games already mentioned, Patrician II ~ Quest For Power may entertain you if you're ready to give it some time.
Either get it as a bundle from GoG, or "let me try it before making a decision" from the folks at old-games.com.
