found a Gem (Carbooty)

Anyone found any gems of games at Car boots ?

couple months back i found Zool at a Car boot was A1200 Enhanced version. Opened it up to find all orig disks,Manuals, codewheel, the promotional stickers and a full size shop window promotional poster, with orig game invoice which cost whoever bought it £20 in 1992, i think i gave the guy £2 for it. is that a gem or what ?

So anyone else had experiences at Car Boots like this, is there any Car Boots in England you have had alot of success finding Amiga Games, or even computers at ?

would be interestiing to see if there is any Car boots local to me where people have had success at,

i think i've had my most success at finding Amiga related stuff at Ashwood Car Boot on the A449 near Wordsley

A really horrible dirty incomplete towered A1200 for £4 which turned out to have an Apollo 1260 and a scandoubler inside it, they got listed on findit.co.uk and I made £130 and £70 respectively for them.

Another A1200 for £10 which had a SCSI/RAM board inside it which I got £40 for on eBay.

My A600HD with apollo 630, a whopping £10 :cool

External caddy load CD-ROM with surf squirrel, Vidi amiga 24 and Scala MM200 for £15

I could go on, its the prize you get for doing 2 carboot sales a week for 10 years lol

Not Amiga related, but I found a Commodore Kim-1 and bought it for £5. It was under a pile of electrical junk, and I spotted the Commodore logo which got me pretty excited right away. I knew these were pretty sought after, and sold it the following week for £380 - not a bad hour's work! :great

Freecycle has come up trumps many times so far. I think I've managed to get 3 A1200s in various conditions, one with a nice accelerator in it and a couple C64s. No sifting through shit like at car boots just post the question asking then turn up at the persons house.

About 30 games with one of them, all boxed in good condition. Managed to get £80 after fees on ebay :D

Selling stuff you get on Freecycle seems immoral to me

Yeah its a bit pants to be part of this community and use it in that way. I know there are traders who do this as a business but to come to a place like this and brag about it is a bit poor.

I got an A600 for the bargain price of £4 from a car boot and a 1mb upgrade form ebay for £16 and sold them to a member of this board who was looking for one for £20 when I was done with them.

Steve.

I got a copy of Putty Squad for 50c about 11 years ago. But before you all rush to ask me to share it, please note that it was, of course, the PC version.

And the disks have long since died anyways.
