CF Card PC/Amiga Switcher
After finding the Adapter below on eBay, got my cogs ticking has anyone tried one of these in the PCMCIA port to see if it is compatible as external storage device on Amiga?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SD-SDHC-SD...item2a2e52e378 If so it should be possible to make a permanent connection from PC using a USB cable wired to the adapter via a card reader and fit a switch to swap the SD card access between the PC Amiga. If the adapter works it should not cost too mutch to make either. Mini USB Cable £2 SD Card Reader £1 (Pound Shop) 6 pole switch £2.50 SD to CF Adapter £10 This would remove the need to keep swapping the CF Card back and forth all the time! |

So basically you'd have yourself an SD card, solder wires between it and this adapter and also connect the wires to a USB card reader, then add a switch in the middle to make it visible to the adapter or the card reader depending on which you wanted? You need to switch quite a few lines. http://www.yourwarrantyisvoid.com/wp...9/DSCF0386.JPG |
Yes the 2 GND connections 3 and 6 can be joined to make just 1 GND connection
The +5v can be permanently connected to Amiga side (Amiga has to be powered on) That makes 6 data lines that need to be switched total. You can get 6 pole double throw push switches easily and solder the contacts on an sd card with kynar wire to the switch. |
Well, let us know how it went please. ;-)
I smell a future filled with filesystem corruption myself. |
I used at the past a similar SD->CF adapter into a CF/PCMCIA on my A1200, without any problems, but that time it was just SD not SDHC on the market.
