Looks shit just like all of his other games. Looks like he forgot the obligatory "AMITEN SOFTWARE" in huge letters on the main game screen.

If you're going to "remix" (rip-off) a game and release it to the public (as your own), then it goes without saying that you should at least do a damn good job of it, else instead of respect, all you'll get is people's contempt.

I don't see anything new or exciting about this project. No story except to suggest a homeless ninja picking up coins other people accidentally dropped on the ground.

To be fair, I don't see the problem in using placeholders etc for a work in progress. But it does seem a bit disingenuous to promote it without disclosing that fact.

Also it does look like the sprites have been "redrawn" by removing the sword, different colours etc.

Also the portrait in the bottom left is from another game, As are the lanterns.
but can't quite place it.

Amiten doesn't use placeholders, though. To make matters worse, he tried selling a game as such.

It won't be a PD game though will it.... like his Coco Banana game which he ripped off it's clear he hasn't learned his lesson.

There's no amount of money that would have me work with them and one of the key reasons I'll not release my source code anymore.

I know I probably shouldn't... but posted this in another thread, though much more relevant here:

Send Amiten an e-mail with the above :p

He'll then be able to produce a new "original" game out of those sprites via AMOS, claim them as his own and finally charge an absolute fortune for it like he did with "Coco Banana"... in virtually no time at all :rolleyes

Mind you, as per standard, it would still be the same old mediocre game that only a 5 - 10 year old might get excited about.. and if you were stupid enough to purchase; then you'd play for one minute maximum before getting totally bored due to restrictions / scrolling / dodgy hitboxes / features / storyline / lack of originality.

Ah this probably explains why the videos/page suddenly vanished for this.

Pretty sure this is just the Coco Banana engine, he just changed that stupid scrolling routine where the player gets at the edge of the screen when near the end of the level and made something that resembles more a proper game.

Other than that, it has the same effects, same transitions, same parallax, same movement.

I'd really love to know who "Per-Ola Eriksson" is on EAB???

Have you read the comments on Indie Retro News? These were posted way before it reached EAB news, but you still support them as they promote your rubbish... which EAB will not!!!

I suspect he never coded CoCo or just took the code from somewhere else.

Once there was a scrolling text demo he claimed he wrote and it was just sample code from Amos the Creator and people were commenting how great it was.

I think there's been a few times like this.

He has some ok interviews but meh...

He didn't, but the coder got proper credit AFAIK. At least he was here at EAB trying to defend Amiten during the Coco Banana debacle.

If I recall correctly, it's the guy getting the "Additional Coding" credit on this thing. Which is kinda funny because it's obvious it's all his coding, amiten is just swapping GFX on the same engine, MAYBE touched up the scrolling routine. But it's clearly the very same engine with the very same features and very same issues.
