It's really impressive !
I would love to buy it for PC :)

About toki, the "Magic Team" has just released one iPhone conversion, very good on 3GS !

s2325 19 October 2009 11:14

It may be silly question but what is it on these screenshots? Is it iPhone emulator?

Graham Humphrey 19 October 2009 11:20

That looks very very interesting.

Will have to keep an eye out at Live Arcade for this one.

Specksynder 19 October 2009 11:50

I just contacted them (Via the email-address) asking about a future PC release.I will let you know when (And if) they answer me (I hope so :)).
I must confess that those screenshots are amazing :crazy

I wonder if there will be a remake of this C64 masterpiece

It's interesting to see random companies resurrect old classics at random for the modern platforms. :)

It often confuses me though as to who owns the copyrights to the likes of Toki and Pinball Dreams/Fantasies nowadays. I mean, are Digital Illusions no longer really connected to the latter for instance?

dlfrsilver 19 October 2009 13:49

Philippe told me They own the toki licence they had bought to convert the game.
They still have it :) They would never have started to build a new game without the legal authorizations.

And yes finger crossed for a PC version !!!

Philippe is a friend of mine, i will know before everyone if it ever happens.

I was aware about Toki preparing a month ago.... was told to keep it secret until today :D

MethodGit 19 October 2009 14:10

Aaaahhh now see I didn't think it was that easy. :) I mean TAD Corporation went under like years ago so I wonder if that meant the Toki license was floating in limbo/the public domain for all these years?

All this retro revivialness makes me wonder if Pang is next for a reglossing/iPhone job. :D Or maybe Rodland!

BippyM 19 October 2009 16:09

I'll buy it and would love to see other Amiga classics updated and released on PSN!

Retro-Nerd 19 October 2009 16:12

Looks really beautiful. I would buy a PC version. :)

gimbal 19 October 2009 19:22

beautiful, just stunning 2D graphics. Hope the gameplay is a little less unforgiving in the remake and I surely hope for a PC version.

Dizzy 19 October 2009 19:28

dlfrsilver 19 October 2009 20:59

I suppose you refer to the buttons and joypad?

I don't own an IPhone, but since the iPhone uses a touch-screen, I can only guess that these are the areas you have to press to obtain the selected action (i.e. jump, move forward, etc...)

dlfrsilver 20 October 2009 08:53

it's an HD game :)

cv643d 21 October 2009 12:42

Dont want to be rude but IMHO it does look slightly cheap to me, original had more lush colors and the animation in the HD version seems choppy.

And as someone mentioned, Toki was a quite hard game, Anyone made it to the second level? third?

I played with infinite credits on MAME and could not get past the third level IIRC. Definitely one of those games best let to rest IMHO.

dlfrsilver 21 October 2009 13:01

Toki level 3 is not the hardest to get thru. Level 5 is the hard one :)

MethodGit 21 October 2009 22:29

Trust someone to make it look so easy. ;)
