JetHuntERS Preview version released
2 Attachment(s)
Hi all
Have had a terrible time with computers the last couple of years. Laptop died. Moved to Pimiga. Then to an old laptop which then died too. Then built a new PC and suffered 2 hard drive deaths. Lost over a year of code. :guru But thanks to earlier backups that were found I've got JetHunt 2 : JetHuntERS to a preview stage at least. It's buggy (especially my firing routines which I need to rewrite) and there's only one level in the preview but it's 1 or 2 players. Should run on non-AGA unlike JetHunt although I think it needs at least 1MB of CHIP RAM. This is the first disk image I've tried of it. will run from HD too though no assigns necessary. Fingers crossed it works as I'm finally getting back into Amiga coding. Other things have been saved and I hope to get a rhythm going soon... :great |
Many thanks

Or did the project morph into this? what language are the games written in? cheers |
2nd video is the first game JetHunt. This is (will be) JetHunt II called JetHuntERS.
The games are written in Blitz Basic 2.1. |
Hey this game looks quite nice at this stage, I like that it kind of has a Gradius feel in the level layout, Japanese shmup vibes all around helped by the soundtrack using FM sounds.
I think some of the attack waves are a little bit stiff so maybe you can work on that but otherwise this looks really good. |
Nice work, I really enjoyed it. I like the leg animation.

Looks really good

I forgot to mention the things missing from the preview. Many more attack waves, more sound effects and music,15 more levels (maps are finished though), boss (possibly plural), high score entry along with saving and loading, Game ending.
And tweaks and bug fixes! |
Great!

nice!

I've just noticed fire buttons don't change the weapons when using joysticks. Bah. To change weapons press left shift for player one or right shift for player 2.
This is now fixed in the full version. Serves me right for testing using the keyboard.... :banghead Ps cheat mode to see all weapons, press 4 ingame. Although some of these will be tweaked or changed before release. Especially as they're too powerful on full strength! |
