CF Card Reader

Hello,

I'm running a towered A4000 off a cf card in place of a HD. It's currently inside the case and inaccessible unless I remove the cover. I'd like to be able to quickly swap CF cards & have a reader mounted in one of the 5.25 drive bays. Does anyone know of a nice looking CF Card reader that could be mounted as such? I've seen one on eBay but the face plate looks a little rough or home made.

Thanks.

I think home made is your only option unless you mount it at the back with something like this:

(You'll be able to buy cheaper locally I imagine)

Here is one: http://www.delock.de/produkte/G_9163...setLanguage=en

Unfortunately they don't sell it any more.

They now have a similar one for SATA: http://www.delock.de/produkte/S_9169...setLanguage=en

Delock is a very good brand in my opinion, I have two of those adapters and they work very well. :great

What you want is some removable drive bays like this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190368771301

I have 2 in each of my Amiga towers and one in my PC. Now I never have to open the cases to change hard drives or CF cards. Just make sure you power off before you pull them out or put them in, I have a 40 pin IDE to CF adapter in one of them and an assortment of hard drives in the rest. When you plug them into the PC bay you can then access them in WinUAE directly.

Couple of cheap adapters and you can use 2.5" hard drives in them as well as 3.5" ones. Best solution i've found.

The Delock would be perfect if it wasn't black! I think I'll try the removal drive bay option - thanks for sharing!
