New WIP on SPS Website

just thought i'd point anyone who's interested over to our website for an update into whats going on, and to disprove any rumours that we are indeed dead. which we're not. :)

they will be IPFified yes :)

Since i have spent 155 euros on Lorna, you bet !!!

Interceptor 01 July 2008 12:15

do you know anyone that could make you one of these?:

http://www.softpres.org/article:hard...drive_to_amiga

we're very interested in getting some of your CPC games dumped, Jim Power etc. but i suspect you would be reluctant to send any games out...

dlfrsilver 01 July 2008 16:33

Let's see it other way, if one of you guys can build me the adaptator, i'm ok to pay it right away.

It could be done like this :) ! and yes i'm quite reluctant since they cost me a lot.

Interceptor 01 July 2008 17:20

i'd prefer it this way too, but finding someone to build the adaptors is proving difficult, which i why i was wondering if you knoew anyone who could do it.

i'll keep asking around.

alexh 01 July 2008 18:21

Find a source of 3" drives and I'll get some PCB's etched at work.

Interceptor 01 July 2008 18:45

that'd be cool!

there is no source of drives as such, i just picked a couple up from ebay / car boot sales.

i actually use one of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...3DOp1%26ps%3D5

with the psu taken out and the adaptor in it's place, so it's a nice contained unit with a single amiga plug on the end of it.

one thing, unless you buy a 3" drive which specifically says it has a new drive belt, then assume you'll need one, every drive i've picked up has needed a new drive belt.

alexh 01 July 2008 19:18

If we can find a source of these drives... say 5-10 then I'll get the PCB's made.

It's going to take several hours to CAD the PCB, produce the GERBER files and drilling info and then a while put each one through the milling and etching machine.

I'm not going to do this for just one or two PCB's... you can make your own with Veroboard.

Interceptor 02 July 2008 00:18

the original adaptors were veroboard.

it's the assembly thats causing an issue, it would still be an issue if we had PCBs.

ultimately, i'd rather someone just knocked one of two up in veroboard than having you spend hours on pcb design for what is quite frankly a very minority item.
