ERROR: Leisure Suit Larry Enhanced (Address Error)

I get an error in Leisure Suit Larry Enhanced when you try to play either the slots or 21.

Error message

killergorilla 01 July 2007 16:14

No probs, I'll sort that out :)

I know why that happens so I'll use some other datafiles I've acquired since and update it :)

batwinky 01 July 2007 16:24

Thank you verry much. :bowdown

Can't wait to play it through on my 40" sony lcd. :spin

Belgarath 01 July 2007 20:46

You know why it happens?

The adfs always error for me at that point as well!

killergorilla 02 July 2007 11:30

Ah ok... maybe I don't then...

I figured it was because I 'botched together' some of the files for the installed version I included and presumed it would have been that causing the error...

Either way, I have an install which came from the whdload author so it should be ok, I actually have zero planned for tonight so if someone can test it possibly tonight? Especially if either of you have some save files for it?

Belgarath 02 July 2007 12:47

I'll test it, the bit where it crashes is easy enough to get to, I expect it will crash again though because as far as I know the adfs I use are fine.

Toni thinks its a game bug, which with it being Sierra is more than likely.

It's probably like KQIV I think it was where it would always crash at one point if you did things in the wrong order.

killergorilla 02 July 2007 12:52

Ah ok, I'll dcc it to ya later and you can take a quick look.

If it still crashes then it's probably worth sending a bug report to the whdload guys to patch the game if possible.

killergorilla 03 July 2007 00:00

Right, I sent Belg my other version and again it crashed at the same point...

Is there any one who has played LSL Enhanced and completed it with no errors? From what I can gather, neither the ADFs or WHDLoad versions can be completed...

I might start another post...

Shoonay 14 December 2007 12:02

Don't know exactly what to do, since I've never played it...
But it got me a few "Privilige" errors already.

I have finished this game using original disks (Kixx edition). Game works flawlessly - game completed.

Good news, can you do ADF's from your Kixx version? ;)

killergorilla 14 December 2007 19:04

Hmm, yeah that would be good...

But it may be one of these games that has a bug that only occurs when you do something in a certain order...

As Belg said "

killergorilla 18 December 2007 01:24

If anyone has working adfs or a fully working whdload version then let me know / upload it.

Otherwise we don't have a working copy!

...

Also.. can some people confirm this error on a real Amiga?

Maybe you should pm mailman for the ADF's. ;)

mailman 18 December 2007 21:56

I will upload my version but it may happen no sooner than on Sunday or Saturday.

killergorilla 19 December 2007 10:14

Yeah that's fantastic mate! Whenever you have the time. :D

Thanks for your preinstalled version mailman. :)

Shoonay 23 December 2007 17:03

Thanks mailman, works fine.
Played it for almost 5 minutes, using all the nasty stuff (ntsc, mmu, cache tooltypes) and not a single privilage violation error...
... and that's 4 minutes and 55 seconds longer than with the last version :lol

I can't find this archive from The Zone :confused I'd be grateful if someone would upload it again. Or tell the name of the archive if it's still in The Zone.

Thanks! :bowdown
