Captured video vertical size not even

Hi,

I have set Display to windowed 360x288, line mode Single, Resolution Lores, PAL.
When I record it with "Capture before filtering" in WinUAE 3* the frame size in the video is 376x287. The horizontal 376 does not bother me but the vertical size 287 prevents me to use codecs that need even size (x264vfw for example).
In WinUAE 2.8* the captured vertical size is 288.

Can this be somewhere adjusted?

It was originally 288 but when display emulation was updated to return exactly correct amount of visible lines (last line is always blank) and have correct vertical positioning, avioutput also got new odd size.

http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae.7z makes sure avioutput screen width is always divisible by 16 and height is always even in "before filtering" mode. I'll probably add manual adjustment later, both size and offset.

Thanks. Now the frame size is 384x288. When I set window width to 368, which is divisable by 16, the frame size is also 384x288. But that's not problem for me.

Captured bitmap size is internal emulation buffer size in "before filtering" mode. Window size only affects it if "before filtering" is not ticked.

Ciao Toni, excuse the disturbance, you can know what is the best setting to make a good captured Audio-Video, The last recorded audio in my videos is faster, probably something wrong in the my settings, as in this my last captured video. Another thing, every time you click on the tab Audio and Video, It prompted the codec used, there exists the possibility to choose and store without being longer required?

You really need to include LOTs more information. Like config and used codecs.

EDIT: Used codec is saved but not all codecs support state information.

I just wanted to know the setting "ideal" and then because the captured audio is faster? perhaps due to the fact that during the recording audio sobs?

"Works for me". Can't answer without required information! (+screenshot of aviout panel)

Those screenshots are my settings, which I think they're fine, audio sped apart.

I don't think AVI + MP3 works very well, at least when using API that WinUAE uses. I still recommend using codecs designed for this kind of recording (non-lossy) and then converting/cropping/scaling/so on to final format.

AMIGASYSTEM 15 December 2015 10:10

Yes Toni, when I space i always use uncompressed, ihe problem fast Audio recorded remains :(

Then include your config, logs and avioutput screen with uncompressed settings. Much simpler than trying to debug complex codec setup.

EDIT: Make sure CPU mode is not fastest possible. It is not really supported when recording.

AMIGASYSTEM 15 December 2015 18:08

Ciao Toni, I enclose two logs, one with recording Audio-Video "uncompressed", and one with compression XiVID+Mp3

- Recording uncompressed -> Recorded audio sobs
- XiVID+Mp3 -> Audio good, only a little faster than the original

Probably recording uncompressed suffering in the creation of large files, that for a few minutes exceeds the Gigabyte, the compressed file and instead of a few Mega, and no suffering for the creation.

Toni Wilen 15 December 2015 18:27

I think you missed my edit in previous post? Don't use fastest possible CPU modes, it is not compatible with recording (at least when both video and sound gets recorded)

Hello Toni, Here I wanted to do a test with an A500 1MB (QuickStart) and a compilation of my old floppy, and I found no difference, than the recording made on the emulation of a A4000/060/JIT

- PCM+Full frames uncompressed-> Excellent video quality, audio fast (to start sometime WinUAE closes, this certainly depends on my system)
- XiVID+Mp3 -> Good quality video, audio fast

Excuse my ignorance, i noticed a particular, if video recording is made with a screen of the default 800x600 16Bit,the resolution of the recorded video is halved, see screenshoot. While with the resolution set to 800x600 32Bit recording is perfect although slightly shifted to the right, see video attached
