Is there Amiga Emulator for Iphone 3GS?
I am just wondering if there is Amiga Emulator for Iphone 3GS?
It would be Cool to play classic Amiga games on Iphone 3GS :great |
No, but you can find few others here http://www.zophar.net/digital-phones/iphone.html
|
IF I am going to play MAME or PC engine emulator on iphone and does that mean I have jail break the iphone before i put mame in? :confused
|
GreenPois0n is easy to google and use.. some nice guides out there too. I have MANY success with it.

If I remember rightly, there was an amiga emu for the iphone, but it used external files for the games, which is not allowed in the app store conditions, so it was removed.

I play Pinball Dreams on my iPhone and I am aware of Pinball Fantasies' existence too. IMHO it's better to see old games remade for iPhone with optimized interface etc. (see Monkey Island) than tinker with dodgy emulators' controls on that device.
|
This would be great but is it actually an emulator you can use your own roms on, or just 3 games built in and you have to buy more? Unfortunatly the news on the amiga is nearly a year old so has it been canned?

To get it to run at any decent speed, you need to use a "private" API from apple.
At least this was what I found out, I have a "working" version of UAE4ALL, that I ported my self, it needs some fixes. Unfortunately you need a jailbroken iPhone to use it. Currently it has no proper GUI, but I am slowly working on it in my spare time. If there is enough interest, I can get a WIP out. |
Nice one Vairn :great Keep Going ;):great

iAmiga 500 emulator for iPhone... Coming?
http://www.tuaw.com/2010/12/09/iamig...one/#continued
The same guys that released the fairly good C64 emulator for the iPhone have been working on the Amiga for iPhone now, and apparently have had good success. Of particular note is that they've optimised the emulator for ARM: time to check licenses! :) |
Merged with the existing thread :) We wait with the News thread until it's released, m'kay? ;)
|
Pretty Cool, I wondered what happened to that one.
It will be interesting how apple handles it, since he also needs to license the roms. Optimizing the CPU for arm, is trivial performance boostage IMO. The slower parts I found were the updating the gfx, and the sound emulation. But since he is aiming for the App store, instead of Cydia. I guess he can't really write directly to the device's pixelbuffer. ;) Basically it is 3ms, compared to like 12-15ms. PS. You don't need a Jailbroken Iphone for the direct Pixel access, just need to use a "private" API from apple. |
Thank you Mr Druid :D - I didn't see this thread...
Vairn, using a private API will get your app declined and, if you're (un)lucky, a personal call from Steve Jobs explaining why ;) |
yeah, which is why I am aiming for Cydia.
But if your not jail broken, and want it, you can nicely ask me, and I might use one of my Apple Device Slots up for you. It is just that I only have a limited amount of them. I am hoping for a Beta in Jan. I will post a video over the weekend! |
and when & if it arrives..if you need any icon work done on it..or interface gfx..drop me a line..be glad to help out on this ;)
|
I'm eagerly waiting for this, I loves some Amiga emulations on all my devices!!!
Meanwhile don't forget to check out DOSPad. |
Greyfox, sent a PM.
DOSpad was cool, I liked how they did the UI. |
Sorry, but the video will be delayed a few days, cause of something awesome I want to finish before I post it.
PS. Banshee looks nice, but is missing parts atm :(. |
