OS4 on Mac

OS4 on Mac Mini boots... http://tinyurl.com/2ld9sk Certainly adds a new spin to this discussion doesn't it... http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=33668 Mods, do you think you'll reverse your ban on AmigaMac?

EternalAmiga 31 December 2007 04:07

Certainly seems to work....

I think the ban should be reversed.

kriz 31 December 2007 07:08

what seems to work ?

motorollin 31 December 2007 10:01

AmigaMac's OS4 boot CD works. He tried to share it and was banned. I think he deserves a big thank you, and a big apology!

AMIGAZ 31 December 2007 10:31

So it works now?

He had the same mysterious behaviour at amigaworld.net too, as soon as you ask him a question he's silent as a clam or dissapears :crazy

Graham Humphrey 31 December 2007 10:32

Yes, it's fair to say he didn't exactly help himself...

kriz 31 December 2007 10:51

Haha this is so funny :) Nobody could make it work, and he could not even tell how to use it ... So yeah, another hoax.

Someone at Amiga.org says he got it working but the video showing it posted yesterday is gone already and I get a feeling you can just boot the installer cd and see the OS4 kickstart screen..nothing special really if you can 't partition the harddrive and install OS4 on it and then boot into OS4

motorollin 31 December 2007 11:07

@kriz
It's not a hoax. It works. I've seen the video. And once you're at kickstart, it's only a matter of time before someone works out how to boot an OS4 installation CD.

Where did the video go? can you fix a new d/l link please if you have it?

motorollin 31 December 2007 11:30

I expect Alex took it down to avoid repercussions from AInc. Don't really want to host it myself for the same reason. I could share it on eMule?

motorollin 31 December 2007 11:40

Dunno, never hosted a torrent before

maybe it's easier if you explain how emule works...have heard of it but never used it

kriz 31 December 2007 12:55

Repercussions from AInc. ? They are incapable of doing anything, surely uploading it some site would be no problem :)

And why could he just not write little readme of how to use it ? A video is not a very good proof IMO.

motorollin 31 December 2007 13:04

Get it while you can

motorollin 31 December 2007 13:21

Please share the file. The torrent will be removed shortly so create new torrents, put it on web space, share it on eMule, whatever you want.

Something is strange about this torrent, i had to save it and open in Explorer.
Why create a new one ? It will stay forever if we keep seeding it.
The .torrent File would be safe at .org or maybe amitorrents.net.

That's normal for torrents. You save the torrent file then open it in a torrent client to download the file.

That file will only be available until I close my laptop :) I don't want to host the file forever. If others want to re-share the file as a torrent, won't they have to create a new torrent file?

Ok, I will consider it.

No. I downloaded many torrents, and all i had to do was click the Link to the .torrent File. Azureus launches and starts downloading.

The .torrent File has Tracker Information, the Tracker connects Seeders / Leechers.
No direct Connection to your Machine in the .torrent.
