Crap games with awesome music.
You've played this game, and you've realised you can't stand it. The levels are badly designed, the mechanics are piss-poor, the voice-acting is Narm-worthy, the controls are downright diabolical, and the graphics look as if they've been shat out the arse end of the last generation after a quick mix of Bran Flakes.
However, you can't help but hum that rather gorgeous title tune whenever you're out. :spin So yeah. Which computer/video game(s) - from any era, any format, any genre - provided an audial treat to you while serving eye bleach everywhere else? :D |
Metal Law was quite nice Huelsbeck music, the 'game' however was utter shit.

Jim Power, the Turbo Duo/PC-Engine port. Awful Scrolling/controls/gameplay, but it's a great soundtrack CD. |

Bionic Commando on the C64! The music was composed by Tim & Geoff Follin and was absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G for the time. However, the game was rushed and was such a dog to play. Poor sprites, bad scrolling and washy colours.
This game was ported to the Amiga with better scrolling, but the graphics were rubbish. The music was terrible too. Hey, what happened to the Follin bros? IMHO this was a travesty. A cool arcade game was butchered during the conversion on both formats. The Amiga version should have been near-arcade perfect as the hardware could handle this game easily. I would love to hear remixes of all the original C64 tunes done on real musical instruments. The only way to enjoy this 80s classic is to source the arcade ROM and play it under MAME. |

Astaroth, I think the music was done by Dave Withaker, one of my favorite.

As far as I remember there were two different Bionic Commando conversions on C64; one was the crappy thing you explained, the other one was quite good.
