[1.6.1] cycling screens problem

hello

With Windows XP SP2 and WinUAE 1.6.1, one time on two when I cycle Windows and WinUAE screens with AltTab or via Taskbar, Windows pointer is still displayed, I have to re-cycle screens and I get Amiga pointer back as well.

thanks

ALT-TAB was never meant to re-capture the mouse, it is only meant to uncapture mouse.

I think one important part is missing: do you mean fullscreen modes?

sure ! I thought to be clear in talking about screen cycling, sorry if I did not.

This only happening in 1.6.1 or does it also happen in 1.6.0 and 1.5?

only in 1.6.1 as I said, never got this trouble before and it seems nothing
has changed on windows side.

thanks

"seems nothing".. hmm.. Perhaps you should do few more tests to 100% confirm 1.6.0 does not have the same problem :)

If 1.6.0 still works fine, could you try which 1.6.1 beta introduced the problem? (check beta thread for urls)

ok, after one day of tests with 1.6.0 version, it seems that's Windows who is responsable of this trouble but I've not found yet the cause.

if someone has an idea, I'll test what you want, it's really boring to have cycle screen two times to work..

thanks

works fine here with: native - fullscreen + vsync
I am able to change with Alt+Tab as often as I want to, mouse gets captured everytime I go back to WinUAE

Do you mean click/doublick does not capture the mouse? Entering and exiting the GUI?

(It still should be "fixed" even if it is Windows/display driver/whatever weirdness)

I think he means when you press Alt-Tab, sure enough, you switch to the next program, but pressing Alt-Tab again doesn't switch back to WinUAE. All other programs work that way; you work in a certain program, alt-tab to switch to the other program to check something, and alt-tab and you're back in the original program.

Been that way in a few versions of WinUAE. I don't remember if it worked in Vista, but it doesn't work that way in XP 64-bit and normal XP.

I think you are confused by Windows feature. Fullscreen ALT-TAB won't "work" if there is only one program running.

(ALWAYS test older versions that was "guaranteed" to work to confirm it is NOT winuae specific problem)

I mean, WinUAE in fullscreen mode minimized, when I click on its icon in taskbar or I use Alt+Tab, one time on two Amiga mouse is not captured and I keep Windows pointer, I've to use Alt+Tab again two times (one to go back on windows, one to go back to WinUAE) and eveything is right.

it's new on my system so I thought 1.6.1 was responsable..

I meant, does the windows cursor disappear if you do following after alt-tabbing back to WinUAE:

Press F12 and then ESC
or
doubleclick left mouse button

Your system configuration may not be the only one doing that so some kind of workaround may need to be implemented..

- Windows cursor does not disapear, Amiga cursor is displayed but not active.
- If I clic right, amiga menu is opened under Amiga cursor
- If I press F12 and then ESC, it works fine.
- If I doubleclick left mouse bouton, nothing happens

thanks
