It's the turn of the Amiga for new games, as we've just come across a post on Facebook of a new game developed by Moya and friend that features... Skeletons! Yes this new game that has only just been teased looks to be an action platformer with an inspiration to Ruff n Tumble and stars a character resembling Jill of the Jungle which pits you against multiple enemies including sword welding Skeleton foes.

- No name as of yet but will ask a mod to edit title when it appears :)

Rebel-CD32 17 July 2018 16:26

There's still no title for the game but we're open to suggestions. The demo is in the Zone if anyone would like to try it out.

Amigajay 17 July 2018 16:51

Looks very nice guys!

Gzegzolka 17 July 2018 16:54

"Moya Adventures" sounds good to me. I remember that game was teased year or two ago by single screen shoot, receive some positive comments and nothing was hear about it again. It is good that it do not die :) I think those graphics looks great and I hope that one day we will have a chance to play finished version.

Ian:

I have removed the image from this post as it was obviously the spark of the major duchbaggery that kicked off. It wasn't really needed in the discussion anyway and I thought something like this would happen with the image as there are some massive idiots on the internet unfortunately, but thought we'd be OK after a couple of days had passed, sadly I was mistaken. Hopefully Cammy did not see this BS, but if you did please accept my appologies for not acting on my instinct to remove the image. No blame attached to you Lord Riton, I believe you posted innocently enough.

Anything rolling with Jill of the Jungle as a guiding influence has my stamp of approval.

saimon69 17 July 2018 21:32

I wish Backbone provides power up structure so she can get a special bonus, become the titular Cammy and kick the skeletons cocciges :P - well, i think that could be done if the game end up coded instead ;)

Really cool looking!

A couple questions: Is this 16 or 32 colors? Who made the gfx? Who's involved in the project currently?

Retrofan 18 July 2018 01:36

This looks amazing :great. I've also posted in Youtube.

Gfx is ripped from several games, apparently from Ruff n Tumble.

Rebel-CD32 18 July 2018 10:20

The graphics are inspired by Ruff n Tumble, but they're not ripped. I pixelled them myself, they're an evolution of the graphics I made for my Backbone tutorial several years ago. Ruff's graphics are larger scale and 32 colours, the graphics in our game are in 16 colours.

turrican3 18 July 2018 10:30

looks cool, will it run on a vanilla a500 ???
why did you limit you to 16 colours ???

Rebel-CD32 18 July 2018 10:36

Yeah, slowly... The A500 version will have a smaller screen size than the demo, to help it move along at a playable speed.

We'd love to team up with a programmer at some point to make a game using the final graphics (these are far from final) but first we'd like to finish a complete game with Backbone, using all the features of the software, as an ultimate example game. Then I'll finish writing a full tutorial including the making of this game from start to finish.

Tigerskunk 18 July 2018 13:02

I see some inspiration by Ruffn' Tumble but by no means any copying.

Would love to help you with the final game coding wise, I think we could get this up and running easily on an A500, even with some Sprite parallax background.

In this case it is really good job!
