Question about configuration file names

If you give a configuration a filename and save it in WinUAE, does it store the filename within the lines of the .uae file or not? The thing is, I'd like to be able to freely rename the filenames of the .uae files with no issues - can this be done?

Yes, when you save a configuration file ".uae" gets added automatically (even if not specified in the "Name" field).

Of course you can rename anything before the ".UAE" extension to whatever you like ;)

i.e. "Another World.uae" --> "Another World - Test.uae" and it will still work as it contains all the essential information within.

If you are talking about removing ".uae" all together from the filename then this won't work or show up in WinUAE or do anything when double-clicked...

I missed part of what you said...

No, the filename is not stored within the .UAE file. You can open the .UAE file with Notepad to take a look for yourself ;)

Thank you, DamienD. Just wanted to make sure.
