Weird physics game thing

This is very obscure. I had a filthy pirate copy of it. I couldn't tell you if it was marketed as a game or as an educational title, but it was really good.

I remember lots of puzzles involving physics, like bouncing light beams of mirrors and stuff. I also remember driving a little tank thing across some screens affecting things on the landscape (again physics stuff) to allow the tank to pass.

This was a long time ago, must have been before 1990. I think it was on more than one disk and I've got a feeling that it wasn't by a UK company. Some other European country, maybe.

And no, I didn't dream it. :) My memory of it is vague but I've wanted to see it again for years because I remember enjoying playing it.

Lasermania !?!

Marcuz 22 June 2003 19:50

it reminds me deflector or it was deflektor? from gremlins

FromWithin 22 June 2003 20:22

It's not deflektor. Is there any more info on Lasermania?

It wasn't only bouncing light off mirrors, but I remember stuff to do with prisms and splitting light into primary colours and stuff.

Marcuz 22 June 2003 21:09

the end of the eye of the beholder 2!!! as for the tank, my warrior was boosted to 25 in every stat!
no sorry...:cheese

Look at HOL.

Twistin'Ghost 29 June 2003 06:49

HOL has an entry for Lasermania 2, although I have never been able to get the game to work (hence no screenshots).

haynor666 29 June 2003 08:32

Since is a polish game Ishould try to make it works. Just give me one day.

andreas 30 June 2003 11:44

Cool.
Looks like a broken ADF, though, because this doesn't work on either UAE nor real Amiga.

haynor666 01 July 2003 09:18

It's not broken! It just doesn't have bootblock, that's all. Game works even on expanded A1200 and emu. It is also hd installable. Released in 1995 not 1990 so this isn't the game You are looking for FromWithin. :(

Yes!
That was the important info I needed.
Got it to work now, thanks!

Anyway, this MUST work without HD, just because there's a startup-sequence included and it auto-boots 'Lasermania 2' after showing a cheap crack intro!
Maybe the bootblock got destroyed.

Moreover, it looks like you must have a WB 3.x (edit: or WB 2.x) fonts disk for this game to work because only then it made it beyond the system requester! (You cannot cancel it with the mouse because there's no cursor.)

haynor666 01 July 2003 16:31

Most of the LK Avalon games are created on WB 2.0. I think that cursor is not bug but System-Configuration makes invisible cursor. Delete system-configuration and You'll see cursor.

andreas 01 July 2003 22:22

NOT working.

Booting with WB 2.04 didn't give desired result.
Tried with WB in DF0:, Fonts in DF1:, Lasermania 2 in DF2:.

Needs to be tested on real A2000 with *this* WB version.

haynor666 01 July 2003 22:37

It works on my config/HD.

andreas 01 July 2003 22:46

Needs explode.library! ( in LIBS: )

Snoopdos, I LOVE YOU! :D
No wonder this couldn't work with ORIGINAL unmodified WB 2!

haynor666 01 July 2003 22:49

You see !!! Everything is possible.:great

andreas 01 July 2003 22:54

But why the hell this library is not ON THE DISK?!?

I assume it has been deleted.

haynor666 01 July 2003 22:56

...or crackers packed exec with Imploder but forgot to put library on disk.

andreas 01 July 2003 23:14

Yeah, but does this matter? :D

PATCHED VERSION IN THE ZONE NOW!
Auto-boots with no problems now.

Forget all your Workbench disks from now on! :D

HOL should now be able to make screenshots of this game without silly workarounds. :)

haynor: if you have a clue how to play this game, tell me. :D

haynor666 11 July 2003 21:33

Leets return to the topic...

Maybe "Beam" ?
