Mac PICT datatype with support for Alpha channels?

I tried using:
http://aminet.net/package/util/dtype/MacPict2-dtc

Trying to load PICT images into MovieShop via CoolIO. CoolIO will convert images to IFF using available datatypes. It's useful for applications that support limited filetypes.

It would crash on the first image each time. I got the same result when I tried viewing one of the mac PICT files with Multiview.

I looked at them on a Mac and realized that some of these have alpha channels embedded and that might be throwing off the MacPict2 datatype.

Is there an alternative/newer PICT datatype available that I can try?

Thanks,
Jaeson

FWIW, the PICT streams that I'm using are from an old Mac version of PYROMANIA! from Movie Effect Studio.

It would be useful to have a convenient way to split PICT's with alphas into two separate streams of images. Then I could import a separate alpha channel clip and use one of MovieShop's operators to compose it with the image stream as an overlay graphic.

Could I split them up in ImageFX or another application?
