WinUAE prep 8Gb Compact Flash

Hi Guys,
I’ve been following this video to prepare an 8Gb CF for use with Amiga using WinUAE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM7F-mGNFMY

It appears if I use the diskpart tool to remove FAT partitions, WinUAE config screen will recognise it,
but it will not be recognised by the HD prep tool in the Amiga emulation.
If I format the CF card with a FAT partition in Windows,
then the emulated Amiga HD tool will recognise it, but it won’t save changes such as file system,
and partition information.
At this point I see a Windows message box saying it couldn’t write to block 0.

I have latest WinUAE version, and have run as Administrator,
and using all tools downloaded from the Aminet links shown in the video.
Any ideas what is happening would be appreciated :)
Cheers, Art.

Do not format it as FAT. Use DiskPart, list disk, select disk, clean, create part primary, delete part. Safely remove and reinsert it. Then it should be recognised by WinUAE and HDToolbox.

If it still cannot write to block 0, disable your antivirus software or anything else which could protect the partition block.

Ok, Thanks Thomas, can’t try again right now, but will soon :)

Thanks again Thomas :D That did the trick.

Those parts not in the video.
Maybe when I get an 8Gb RAM to total 2Mb chip / 8Mb fast,
I could maybe be right to try the other C compiler.
