Update 26-11-2015 : added 3 extra pictures

Update 29-11-2015

To date, there is no reason to postpone the launch on December 3. I am happy to share this news with you.

To be able to contribute to my campaign on Indiegogo it is necessary to have a PayPal account.

On Indiegogo most campaigns have flexible goals. The campaign for the AMIGA CASE will have a fixed goal because a minimum amount of money has to be raised for making the molds and for completing the project. For more information about flexible and fixed goals, I refer to Indiegogo.com .

UPDATE 03-12-15

Dear Amigans,

I have to postpone the crowdfunding campaign due to unforeseen matters, hammering down the final details. I know some of you will be disappointed, but I want to do it the first time right. I will come with a next update as soon as possible.

Update 26-03-2016

I have great news:
The AMIGA CASE project is now officially licensed by Amiga Inc.
The original Amiga logo will be on the AMIGA CASE !!!
Video is available again. Pictures not yet up to date.
Next week I'll come with a more detailed update.

Update 01-04-2016

Dear Amigans,

As promised a more detailed update.
Launch is nearby. If everything goes as planned the project will be launched in the week of 11-18 April.
Awaiting confirmation from my preferred manufacturer concerning the timeline of the project.

Secondly I am trying to get one more official supporter to join the project. Launch of the project is not depending on that.

As stated earlier, AMIGA CASE is now officially licensed by Amiga Inc. so I added pictures of the AMIGA CASE with the original Amiga Logo.

Prices of the AMIGA CASE are unchanged.

UPDATE 13-04-2016

Dear Amigans,

I am very happy to announce the AMIGA CASE project is successfully launched on Indiegogo.com

Tell your friends, family, colleagues, your neighbours, everybody who might be interested.

The sooner you support the AMIGA CASE project the greater the chance that the campaign succeeds !! So don’t wait with your contribution until the end of the campaign. Your support / contribution is much appreciated and of great influence of the success of the campaign.

Let’s make this campaign to a success !!!!

Please read the whole campaign. If there are any questions, let me know.

Kind regards,

Jarno Smit

This looks really good.

What I would really love is if you could make a transparent case. Black is always really hard because of the keys and a computer with black case and white keys looks awful. White on transparent is alright though.
Also at some point if this is as success, maybe you can consider small form factor A600 cases with the same mentality.

59 is still not that far off from the 79 the other case project asked for, so I still think it's a bit steep for my liking. But am really glad you guys are working on this and I wish you the best with the crowdfunding campaign.

Hi Akira,

€59,- is still 25% cheaper, even more when you buy 2 cases.

Thanks for your positive comments,

Jarno

I know it's cheaper, definitely commending you on having slashed off 20 euros off the price!
It's just a personal opinion, as I said, for *MY* liking. I am not really willing to pay for a case that much unless it has a novelty like it being transparent. I know, totally frivolous :D

One more thing: I see that in the case that has a "platform"for the keyboard, the "AMIGA" mark is present. Why not on the other cases? Will you be using the mark or not?

LuMan 23 November 2015 20:35

Looks nice. Lots of configuration options. It seems to me like the trapdoor is no longer, and replaced with just vents. This may not be too much of an issue, as I don't suppose most people are constantly swapping the HW in and out of the trapdoor.

I spent quite a bit of time Retr0briting my A1200 cases, but one of these might be good for a custom paint job. Are any details available on what paints can or cannot be used?

Good luck with the funding project :)

Predseda 24 November 2015 09:36

How they wil be made? Pressed to molds or how?

Hi Akira,

Please look closely to the pictures. On both available top covers the AMIGA CASE logo will be used.

Kind Regards,

Jarno

Hi Predseda,

For production of the AMIGA CASE, 2 steel molds with insert have to be made.

Predseda 24 November 2015 14:57

Not exactly sure how to understand it: in the video there is shown A1200 mobo is pushed further to the back, so even the side PCMCIA hole is pro-longed. Does this mean the case is slightly bigger than original one? Or it is because the rear part has a bit different shape?

EDIT: Aha, I can see it now from comparison in 1:37.

Predseda 24 November 2015 15:51

Do you have any imagination, how many PC keyboard types, that would fit this case, is available on the market today?

Amicol 24 November 2015 16:41

It's decent A1200 tower cases we're short of....

Ruffneck 25 November 2015 14:13

Looks great Jarno, I'll will order a couple for sure!

Can/may I suggest a CF card slot opening? :)

spudje 25 November 2015 15:22

I assume/hope you can use something like this in one of the two 3,5" bays. http://www.bol.com/nl/p/startech-com...00000014096684

Probably some creative people can come up with a 3,5" bracket that can host both USB ports and a CF card slot. Maybe the project can also include a 3D file for the 3,5" bay cover as a starting point for this, next to the backplate?

Schuimpy 25 November 2015 15:50

Hi Ruffneck, Hi Spudje,

Thanks for your comments :)

The 3.5inch Drive Bay IDE to Single CF Card Reader, like spudje suggested, would be a nice solution. Would it fit ? Yes.

Releasing a 3d file of the 3,5 inch bay covers wouldn't be a problem at all.

Ruffneck 25 November 2015 15:59

Wouldn't it be nicer to have a CF slot above the PCMCIA slot, and then as a "trapdoor" which can be removed to use it or let it be when not in use?

Hi Ruffneck,

There will be no CF slot above the PCMCIA slot. Too much 'flesh' will be gone to make a firm construction.

spudje 25 November 2015 23:14

Great! I'm really looking forward to an all new hardware Amiga :) Amiga Reloaded (OK with original ICs), this very nice new reinterpretation of an Amiga Case and the new ACA1233...
