Amiga and ISA SBC problem
I have soldered the two A2000 ISA slots from 8-bit to 16-bit and now I try to put a SBC there. But when I power-up the SBC BIOS complains about conflicting I/O ports (for example parallel port and unless I disable it in BIOS the SBC doesnt let me boot further). By using the same SBC on passive ISA backplate everything works fine without IO conflicts. Is there any clue?

I thought that the ISA slots on all Amiga backplanes were isolated (i.e. not connected to the Amiga) unless you had a bridgeboard?
I would have thought that a single SBC should have been able to exist there fine without a bridgeboard. After all, you're only using the ISA slot for power? Someone else did just what you did http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=68952 |
Yes Amiga ISA slots are inactive, so only power should be there.. I dont understand where those io conflicts come from. An yes, I am using only ISA to power the SBC.

When you fitted the 16-bit connectors did you "buzz" them out with a multi-meter for shorts? Is it possible that you've accidentally bridged a solder?

Yes, checked with multimeter and all ok. In fact behaves the same in A4000 too, just checked.
